Thread: Just when you think nobody tips...

I've gotten so disgusted with the whole system of medic/doctors relying on tips that I no longer even mention it to patients. I just heal them and run the stupid delivery missions (as stupid asa RL doctor delivering pizza's on the side for spending cash).

Last night a patient needed a lot of healing. Without prompting he tipped me 1500 cr, a few thousand resources, 4 extractor deeds, and 1 wind power deed.

I still hate the economic system for medic/doctor but someone like this can make up for a lot of bad feelings about my fellow players.

There are good days, and there are bad days...then there are worse days! One time I was in Med center for about 4 hours and made 4k credits in tips. Another day, I'm lucky to make 1k. Hell, somedays I make zilch.

i'm lucky if i get any tips at anytime. The most money I have gotten from one person is 1k and one time some idiot had the nerve toask me for money to heal him! He thought 'well i'm giving you experience'! idiot

I dunno, i totally stopped worrying about tips. If i need money, i do some deliveries round trip and make a couple k. Once you can make wound pack B's, if you use the proper ingredients and experiment, it doesnt take so rediculously long to heal anyone. I have a flora, water, and chem harvester, so i have way more ingredients than i know what to do with. If you wanna make money, be an artisan. If you want to cover expenses, make some money, buy some harvesters, and get some experience. If you think healing takes too much time to NOT get a tip for, then you probably shouldnt be a medic. Patience is a virtue.

Sell your excess resources. Some of us don't have any artisan skills, but we want to be a medic.

Please sell the excess stuff on the market so we can buy it and craft our medkits to gain skill toward bio eng.

Omg u guys rely on tips!!!! what the hell r u thinking!! I am a medic on eciplse and im currently in Besine on Tatooine. i make roughly 25-30 k a day! I dont sit there in the med center either.. last time i remeber i was in a med center was the 4th day i got this game lol.. become a novice marksman and work on pistol. rifle or like me pistol, rifle and ranged wep support . i always solo missions and get tone of profit.. i may get uo the medic tree a bit more slowly yet while u heal and make no money i have a medium and small house, 2 gowns (12k total), high end weps (Dlt20a, and Dl44), and tons of resources and armor .

Think of it.. shooting the heck out npcs and outlasting other marksmans and brawlers because you have the skills to heal yourself better then they do (thats even if the use skill pts in medic tree). If ne of you are on the Eciplse server i would be more then happy to allow you to join me and make bank . IF ya broke ill pay your passage . remeber us medics have to stick up for each other and help each other out!! or else we will always be poor .

So far i have grown to love and worship my medic as well as others praising me because they dont see many medics tearing it up like i do and stil healing everyone (if i am in a group) and btw healing the the field is the only way to go once you got enough fighting exp.

Generally I find that if things are slow at the med center, I'll grab a delivery mission to the other end of the planet just so I can earn 500-600cr to get to a med center in another town.

My travel rule is never stop onto a transport with less than at 200cr delivery mission in my hot little hands.

True, it doesn't make up for the hours I spend healing with little /tips, but until I make 1/2 way through doctor, I'll wait to start REALLY charging ppl. "Ya want to be fully healed in 2 minutes, no problem - that'll be 1000 cr please" :-)

This whole tips/no tips issue is pretty nutz. I have spent whole nights in the med center where i get little to no money for healing lots of wounds. however, i have also had great experiences where i get lots of organics and inorganics and even weapons and clothes. the players that you see over and over realize that you're always there for them and they tip you well for it. i've also been invited to go hunting and do missions with groups of combatants.
i think that Zeian Starrange has the right idea. Train novice marksman so you have some defense then go out in the field with a big group *note - first make a lot of stimpacks...a lot* everyone in the group picks up two missions in the same direction, then you all go out and spend an hour or two in the field. i personally don't bother fighting, i just run around healing everyone as they get hurt. at the beginning of the hunt i just tell them that i can't run around to everyone so if they get hurt they need to tell me then COME TO ME. last night i did this with a great group of guys and we all made about 3k credits while i netted a nice 15k medic xp. granted i had the resources to do this (thanx to other grateful artisans and fighters) but i'm sure the fighters will realize how much easier hunts are when you have an experiences medic around. its a lot more fun than sitting in the med center and makes sure that the fighters never even need to go to the med center.

just some food for thought for the medics who need xp and credits...

I am like Zeian. I enjoy missions to make some cash to cover my crafting resources. I've been geared for Combat Medic since release and I am really enjoying the freedom it gives me. I have harvesting abilities and serveying abilities along with macro knowledge to keep my crafting caufers full.

I quit sitting in hospitals after I relized I make better cash, DEFINATELY more consistent EXP, and I get toexplore the worlds going out and hunting. I can get 2.6k per crazed durni lair.... let me repeat that 2.6k PER CRAZED DURNI LAIR. Those lairs are much easier then some of the missions taht only offer 1500. I mean really, can any medic who sits in the hospital say they've made 5.2k in tips CONSISTENTLYevery 30 mintues? I truely wish the hospital sitters could say that, but since there is a growing population of people that feel heals should be free, the amount of money gained on average is pretty pathetic........ and that isn't right, but it's the reality of the situation.

As far as EXP gain, for me, I get more EXP gain at a steadier pace out in the field then if I sit in the hospital.

Example: For this we'll use a 24 second period (master medic time in between wound heals and average fight time if I am partnering or in a trio........ we like the red cons ). EXP gained from a wound heal is roughly double the actual heal and EXP gained from a HP heal is the total heal done devided by 4. So you do a wound heal of 80 (my avg Advanced Health Wound pack heal) for 160+ or - and thats 24 seconds there. I go out with a couple buddies and in that same 24 second period I can get six heals off for an avg of 410 + or - EXP gained (that 410 is a very low guestimate). 80 EXP verses 410 EXP.......... if that comparison was a boat it would have tipped to the left. Oh, and since I am Zebrak I can chain 5 of those 410 AVG fights before I need to med, and the med time is teeny... like maybe another 24 seconds.

IMHO, unless you enjoy to roleplay (and since I am a cobat medic, I am semi-roleplaying being out in the field), hospitals just don't addup toother means of gaining medical EXP and cash. It sucks, but, non healing type people just don't understand our need to gain credits, just to pay for components. And it's the reason you'll never see me healing in a hospital unless its the people I was just out in the field with. I will heal others in there, but, it will be rare because the odds of there being a symbiotic relationship between me and hte patient are slim to none ATM. Occasionally you stumble across indeviduals like the one the starter of thisthread mentioned, but that is a VERY rare breed and the /tip he gave was WAY beyond what I call tip....... whoever that was I /bow to you.

Sorry for the semi /rant.......... but like someone said we medics need to stick together and I'm just passing on something that works for me and helps make the game more enjoyable.

No kidding...there is one guy I see that consistantly tips well. One time I healed him (relatively quickly since I had just made a round of medpacks) and he tips me 1500 (my best tip btw). Then again, I had a guy who I healed from almost total black bar, walking death syndrome, without medpacks (because the guy didn't want me to leave, so you can imagine the hits to my mental bar) and the guy tips me 5cr.

I'm a firm believer in tip what you can (resources, credits, FOOD and DRINK), but 5cr was an insult.

Lest you think the tip might have been all he had, he immediately bought a droid afterwards.

cool two medics who agree with me.. yay! And guys u really dont even need a grp if u understand our limits. For instance.. when u save up enough creds buy a DL44 pistol with high damge and low HAM costs like mine. Go to the missions terminals and choose missions that invlove killing gorgs, kreetles, sevrotts, and nuna's. They r so ez to kill. Just make sure you wear armor and have your healdamge hot key ready. Shoot the lair after disosing of the ones outside so u lure the rest out. Then tear them up . Now (after getting a lot of combat exp.. and if ya want that med exp bring a brawler) u got the liar just sitting there waiting for you.. the ol' mighty medic to blow it the heck up . do two missins in the same direction and you earn (at my level.. i dont know how to tell lol) over 3k in exactly 15-20 min tops. Thats 15k an hour.. holy *^*&.

Remeber tht you can heal yourself and still blast away and if ya brought a brawler let him get hit while u heal and shoot getting u tons of med exp and exp in wep ofchoce, combat, etc. Not all PPl r nice and willing to tip so it is up to you if u wanna take my advice but i will tell u this.. relying on ppl's tips as your source of income will result in you always scrounging enough for u to get supplies. If ya dont want the money for the houses and stuff fine. but u will need money for your resources and ne other thing u might want

I am a novice medic working on level3, scout and marksman, so i don't have a problem getting cash. I always tip my fellow medic credits or resources whether they heal me or not. I figure we are all in this together and i'll need the training down the line,

I was healing in a backwater outpost on Yavin-4 during beta and a bunch of miners lived there and had more resources than they knew what to do with. I got several 10K+ donations. Though that when harvesters had a much higher output.
