Ok i know it's slow guys but what is with the ninja healing lateley. Twice tonight i've had ppl come in specifically to see me. They even /tell me when im in the field to come back. So i go back knowing these guys are good for a couple of k of healing since they always are really hurt.

Anyways i get to the med center and a couple of minutes later they come in. I start healing away and next thing i know,,i **edit** you not 2 docs and 4 medics jump in too. My buds even tell them to back off, that i'm their healer and they keep going.

Now i know when it's busy we help each other out but it's rude imo to keep healing when asked not to. I lost a whole bunch of xp there and wasnt a happy camper.

How about we set a rule,,if someone is healing a patient,,let them get the xp unless they ask for help or you are asked to help out.

heh.. if you want to heal them without anyone else helping heal them away from the med center.

droids with a med mod work great for this

Good point about the ninja healing. I'll bring it up with the Starsider Health Association on Saturday.

I can't agree with this.
The medical centres are public places where people come to be healed.

If you want to set up a private clinic then do just that.
Buy yourself a house and set one up, no-one can heal 'your' patients if they can't get in the house.

Either that or follow the other suggestion earlier and get yourself a medical droid and heal away fromt he med centres that way

I view medics on duty at the med center as being on duty for whomever goes in. We're medics and doctors, we're there to heal. Patients come in to be healed.

A medic heals someone and gets told to back off?!

** BOGGLE **

I'm sorry, but I think about patients who want to get out of that hospital as fast as possible and back on their way, not about how much xp I'm making. If I wanted xp, I'd be out with a hunting party or stimming my fellow dancers at the cantina.

Sounds to me like you should be upset with people who asked you to specifically leave what you were doing to head to the Med Center and heal them.... NOT the other healers.

Last time I checked the Med Center was there specifically for players to get wounds mended... and for healers to mend them. I've personally never seen a sign reading "Line up for Dr. XXX Here!". Most Medics are trying to get some healing experience, not just credit payment. Try to remember that.

The Vulcan race does not appear in this cultural genre, and to my knowledge "Mind Reading" wasn't on the ability list either. As a result, no other medical professional is going to have a clue what "deals" you've set up with other players.

If they don't pay you specifically after asking you to go out of your way... don't do it again. Simple.

I can see your point but I think the fact that you were in a public place designed to be a place where people get healed make your situation expected. If you want to set up a situation where you can exclusively heal your buds, throw up a camp.

If you find that people are taking your healing build a house and run a clinic out of there. Saying x came to the medcenter just for your lonesome self is pointless. Its a public healing facility with public doctors. This is the fashion that I heal in.

1) I start one oneside of the room and make a mental note of the people in the room.

2) I begin to heal a person until they are completely healed.

3)I reexamine the room to see if someone has entered with small heals to get them out of the roomand will quick heal them to send them on their way.

4) I move to the next patient.

If a patient ever told me to back off in the medcenterI would never heal them again. Their name goes on my list of don't heal, ever. This solves problems with them in the future. If they didn't want to be healed by medics in the medcenter they shouldn't have come to it. Its my resources and I will use them however I wish.I don't ask for tips or accept trades.

Setting up your own hosue or camp works.

If you are intent on staying in a med center... operating out of a big city works well. before wipe beta 3 on Bria, I worked out of the 3rd floor in Tyrena's med center. The mob of healers just thought people were wandering around checking out the elevators.

I moved to Kor Vella after the wipe and it is a 1 room med center with 1 floor. Eventuall I did operate out of my house (Kor Vella has the interesting situation that because of the mountains, it has only really 1 buildable direction from town) which was closer to the higher level hunting areas center contintnet of Corellia then Kor Vella was. I hung otu there crafting guns in my factory a lot, and healed people on their way by.

I had a bug where my private craft stations stopped working a lot though =/...

A lot of this is mad scrabbling for XP. I'm taking it slow myself, and healing friends in groups mostly.. so i'm only on my III's in medic...

I'm interested in how this all this shakes out as people max out their XP... Will people still madly scrabble to heal everyone when they don't need the XP anymore... or will the med centers empty out?

Stims still give more XP per resource than woundpacks... and have no competition for patients.

Honestly, I stay away from the med centers... the last 3 I have been in were not nice places... between surly patients, and stressed out medics (I walked into one on Chilastra (to train), and one of the 5 medics actually said "oh great another medic stealing my XP... "

Your best bet with regulars that pay is to ahve a droid though... the Hotels are usually empty.. If the droids don't work in buildings, you can use them anyplace. In beta I was healing wounds in the newbie areas with a droid rigth at the end.

Nothing like hauntign a back alley with a knife and a droid to make you feel like a disreputable chop-shop doc buying slightly used kidneys...

I used to agree with you Goohe, but I don't anymore. Why? Because "BACK OFF! Mine!!!" makes us sound like we're exp-hungry, which makes it sound like we're desparate to heal, which makes patients think we're not providing a service, just getting exp off them. And that leads to poor tipping and underappreciation of the medic class. Granted splitting healscan confuse tipping, but I think we do the public image ofMedics amuch better service by emphasizing that we work together to help patients. If you have problems with tips not being distributed equally, form a 'doctor group' and start being honest with your peers about tips. If you get tipped, track ifsomeone else was helping to heal and share. It works for us in Theed.I really don't want to see 'doctor griefing' be the huge issue it was in Beta because it's just silly. We play a difficult class, let's try and work together instead of hassling over a lousy 1000 experience points. Our ultimate goal should be to provideour service in the most timely manner possible.

Honestly if you are relying on med center xp to level your doing it all wrong...

here a better idea then just complaining about ninja healers

take your 2 friend...make something called a group and heal them while they fight...

Trust me no healer is gonna fall you arounf and ninja heal ur 2 friends then...

and ull get tons more xp...4 stims packs in the time to get off 1 med pack? trust me xp in the field is faster...

When i sit in the med center which is public...im there to heal people and get them in and out as fast as i can.

I think the mentality you present in this post just gives a bad name to medics...

Most of the opinions seem to be going against Mapl3 (the original poster), but I think the specifics of his situation are being glossed over... to wit...

Thepatient asked the other medics not to heal him. And those medics ignored his request and continued healing him against his wishes. Everything else aside, I have to side with Mapl... this was rude. When asked, the other medics should have stopped.

(I also suspect that he and his friends weren't winning any courtesy awards, either... but I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt and stick to the basic situation.)

Thoughts?
