What bothers me is how some in this thread want to do away with /ui action commands. The above two macros are some of my favorite. I hate how stims must be in your main inventory to use. I am an organize freak, and I like to keep all my meds in a satchel named “med bag” which is inside my main backpack.

The basic heal command will not work with my inventory setup. Therefore I created the above two macros to switch to my meds toolbar, and use the meds found in it, and return to my main toolbar.

I really would dislike the above healing macros being ruined.

My PA maintains an alias so that new members can quickly add their PA mates to their friends list. Wec all this alias our AvianFriends Macro.

I am very worried that the upcoming changes the macro system may damage the good work we have done with our AvianFriends Macro. Our macro does not contain recursive feature, but it does contain nested features. I am very worried about the future of these nested features. Out macro is not harmful to the game, in fact it enhances it. We have created a something that takes the place of a missing feature of SWG.

The following is how our alias is set up.

I agree totally, this will suck. plain and simple it will stop the abusers but will also really hamper the innocent people that do not abuse the system

They want to stop the AFK entertainers and combat bots.

Well focus on the fact that both things they want to eliminate have one thing in common... they do not move far. Their location in the world is always the same. Have something inside the game that triggers when a player is not moving very much, then have the game detect any repetitive commands. If their location is not changing, and their commands are repetitive, odds are they are a bot.

If the game things they are a bot, block any macros. If the person is not a bot, allow them to type "yes" or something similar to when we surrender a skills of redeed a structure. That way real players who accidentally look like bots can keep playing, yet real pots would be screwed.

This is anunfair way to address a valid issue which is AFK players. Due to the way the developers have designed the crafting professions it is vital to have recursive macros available. Rather thaneliminating recursive macros there needs to be a wayto periodically detect if there is any keyboard/mouse activity to verify that a user is not AFK. Eliminating recursive macros is a shortsighted way to addressing the AFK player problem. I hope someone on the development team realizes this and pushes to reverse this poor decision.

Hey their. if your upset about the macro nerf take your complaint to these people! They have a daily consumer advocate program on about 300 American radio stations!

I don't know what you're doing wrong, but that certainly isn't true. I keep all my meds in cargo pockets in my equipped backpack. I used to keep them in an unequipped backpack in my main inventory. Only state cures and poison/diseaseneed to be in your main inventory to work. Stims and enhances can be used from anywhere.

I understand that people don't want their macros ruined and believe me, there are a number of correspondents that agree with you, but that state of afk entertainers is ridiculous and really needs to be fixed asap. This really is only a temporary fix.

I don't really mind AFK entertainers, it's the AKF combat grinders that get on my nerves. Saw a bunch of them at Mos Eisley newbie spawns yesterday, one-shotting everything in range (one of em did like 900 damage per hit to those poor little creatures) .. and there was not one of them, there were at least 5. Must be very frustrating for a new player that doesn't know what's going on.

ResourceMan, I don't think your PA will be affected, at least not if you use these macros.

Like you said, this announcement concerns RECURSIVE macros.

The macros your PA is using does not call itself in a loop. Each macro calls another one, so you should be allright.

Now that I am thinking about it, there is a problem.

This would be a workaround for what SOE intends to do.

example:

Macro1: /commands;/macro Macro2;

Macro2: /commands;/macro Macro1;

and again, we are looping...

to completely remove this, they should changes the macros in the way that you cannot call another macro inside a macro... in this case, you will be affected...

oh well, it is in developpment, these guys are developpers, if I can find a quick way for a workaround, they will find it too and will change things accordingly

so, long text short meaning... not sure how this will affect each of us and your PA

Actually ... I personally keep all of my healing meds on a toolbar (or two depending) and I keep the meds in labeled cargo pockets and satchels in my backpack. I don't have to have the state cures and poison/disease cures in my inventory to work. Frees up inv. space quite nicely hehe

I keep my stims and enhances on the toolbar, but I use /healstate to heal my states. I should have clarified that the /heal commands don't seem to recursively check containers, but using the item directly from the toolbar works fine.
