I'll be as short and to the point as possible.

Just as all classes are able to use a CDEF Pistol. All classes should be able to use basic medicines. If all classes got the 5 pts required to use level 1 medicines, all medics would have an invaluable source of income.

Stimpack A is useless to a Master Doctor. However if non medics could usebasic medicines then medics could make many credits crafting them and selling them. There would be no competition. Casualmedics and uber medics alike would benefit because they would fly off the shelf.

There will ALWAYS be a need for stimpacks. Combat classes would go through them like water.

Petition the devs to give all classes the basic 5 medicine use pts available to novice medics to use medicines. ONLY medics would be able to craft weapons (just as an artisan is the only one able to craft a CDEF). However all classes should be able to use the basic medicines.

Consider the Ranger. They usually spend time in the middle of nowhere. They could buy them in bulk (giving credits to the medics) and not have to trek back to town every time they get hurt.

Please consider this.

Thank you

So should the devs give everyone all the novice skills of all the novice professions?

Novice skills have many of the most significant professions skills, that is why they cost so much (15 points).

Passing them (medic skills) out for free.. ehh... nto gonna get a lot of support for that here.

Right now, people have to make the active choice to pay those 15 points. It is an important choice. If they make it, then we sell them Stim B's... otherwise we heal them in groups ourselves.

The amount of money in sales doesn't begin to cover the loss of groups that will happen. Even less people would need medics.

I don't see that. There would still be a need for doctors and combat medics. Stimpack A heals a small amount and Stimpak B does a decent amount. If you want you can give people the ability to JUST use stimpack A and the most basic health/action wound damage packs, I wouldn't see where that would make medics useless overnight.

In battle having to stop and heal in the middle of a fight can get you killed. A good medic will always be needed to keep players up in the middle of a fight. Having the ability to use a low level stimpack (which is what B is) will never replace the useof a good medic in combat.

This would mainly be for the solo guys who just don't feel like running to town everytime they get hurt.

hmm sorry you feel the way you feel.

Like I said. Stimpack A is probably useless to a Master Doctor. . . yet it takes up a spot on their schemetic srceen. Why not give them the ability to sell them?

A few more arguements:

You make a valid arguement that novice medic gives you multiple skills. However the skills that novice medic give you are useless in the middle of a fight. If you are fighting something and take time out of that fight to use novice medic level skills to heal yourself it's counter productive. If something hits you for 200 dmg and you use a stimpack A to heal for 75 or even a stimpack B to heal for 150-200 there's no point.

In battle, massive damage healing will ALWAYS be the place for the medic. Besides I'm not even suggesting that we get the skills of the novice medic. I'm asking that a non-medic be allowed to use the most basic of medicines. I just don't see that turning the medic into a useless group support function overnight. The most basic medicines are pratically useless to a mid level medic. What decent medic (which is what groups usually need and want) uses Stimpack A in a fight to heal damage? I may be wrong but I don't see the harm in letting other classes use low level medicines. Heck up the mind HAM usage, half the effectiveness, attach a penalty to it, whatever. Also why would I as a marksman stop in the middle of a fight to heal my buddy when the medic can do it better than me?

Finally (and I'll shut up after this) there will always be a place for the medic in groups. It's counter productive for a non-medic to try and be a serious healer in combat. Our Mind pool is too small and the medicines too low level. After battle is another story but then after batte if we have no medic we /sit for 5 minutes before continuing anyway. A medic after battle just decreases that time.

1) There are no classes in SWG. If you haveunspent skill points anddon't have medical skills, you're not playing the game properly. THERE ARE NO CLASSES IN SWG. Got it?

2) If you don't have the skill points left, wear skill enhancing attachments or whatever they're called. It's very simple to wear +5 medicine use, allowing you to use stim A and stim B without Novice Medic.

So it's already in the game.Enough with themeaningless newbie drivel, atimes. You're not an expert and neither am I. We're all newbies.

Hello Traigus,

Speaking currently as a Master medic myself, what "ATtimes" is requesting is doable without detracting from our profession. Have Grade A stims & medpacks still be just for noob medics only. Create a lootable only series of heal damage only (not wound packs) that does half the healing of Grade A stim packs.

Finito, it's as simple as that. The sacredness of Grade A stims & medpacks aren't soiled in non-medic hands.

MorvenDee. .. classes, professions I say toMAYtoe you say toMAHto relax it will be ok.

So. . . where are these +5 medicine use skill enhancements and what are they called.

You blast me, insult me and deride me without telling me where I can find things to help my problem.

Very helpful. Thank you ever so much!

I know that if I have unused skill points I'm not playing the game properly. Duh. . . I'm thinking down the road when I've used my skill points up. I've got a plan to advance my character and to reach my goal, eventually I will have to sell back the few medical skills I've learned since I won't have enough points left to invest even into novice medic. I'm planning ahead.

Avery simple "hey atimes you get get +5 medicine use skill enhancements to solve your dilemma" would have done wonders instead of the "meaningless newbie drivel" bit.

So I'm a noob. . . don't string me up and hang me out to dry for it. HELP me out. That's why I started this thread in the first place.

I think you might be asking for something you already have.

Someone came into a med center the other day and asked where she could purchase medical supplies. I started explaining where they were listed on the bazzar and that she would need Novice Medic to use them. She had read something in the manual that contradicted what I was saying so we did an experiment. I crafted up a few Stimp As, another medic (who has entertainer skills) started dancing to lose some Action points and we showed the non-medic how to use the Stimp. Sure enough, she was able to use it.

Now, there is no way I can tell whether she actually had novice medic training and was pulling our leg to get some cheap Stimps. But, based on our experiment, I'm under the impression that anyone can use a Stimp A.
