Thread: TEF, oh how I hate thee!
Just picked up master medic. I mastered medic by camping the cantina and med center in Theed, so now that I've mastered it I was anxious to wander out and bring some healing to the masses. First stop was the starport at Coronet on my way to Dant. I see a Redel in need of some wound healing so I pull out my trusty R2 with lvl6 med module and proceed to give him some wound healing. within 2 secs I'm on my back as two IMPS popped out of nowhere and levelled me. I didn't have a gun out and wasn't paying much attention, but got to see the rest of the fight from my back while I was waiting to clone. But before I did clone I got to witness them shooting up my droid!
How does someone tell the difference between a covert rebel and an overt rebel? Or a covert Imp and an Overt Imp?
TEFs are invisible.
There is work going into this... TC has a self-only (I belive) TEF indicator. You know when you have one now...
Zarlor, Kavedawg and I are pushing still for "pop-up" boxes with "are you sure Y/N" text in them when yout could get a TEF... or even a TEF indicator floating over target's head.
TEF's and healing is being worked on though... NO ETA for a full fix.

Overts do have the faction symbol show up next to their name though if they're in range (and you have names turned on). Look carefully. TEFs are not visible.
I dunno, that's the way it has always been.
And yes I have my monitor set right (it is actually color matched), and both of my computers display it this way.

I have to disagree with the poster saying TEFs are visible- they're not.
Your own TEFs are visible on TC (in the UI).
They have not made it to live yet.
I have not heard of, or seen any changes.

(They may have changed the overt being a lighter color on me. I haven't done PVP for about a month +, and so I dunno if the rebels I see in Kor Vella are overt or covert. The NPC's droids etc. have not gone dark purple though, so I would assume they didn't.)
If they could put the self-TEF indicator next to your HAM bar, like when your blinded, stunned, etc.. that would be the best place for it. I think
If you are neutral:
Coverts: You cannot tell (unless you are cheesy and look for an act badge by /examining them)
Overts: You will see the symbol of their faction next to their name.
All PCs will be blue if you are neutral.
If you are faction-aligned:
Everyone who is on your faction will be Purple. NPCs on your faction will be Lavender. All PCs neutrals will be blue
Coverts (your faction): They will be purple, with no insignia.
Overts (your faction): They will be purple, and have the faction insignia next to their name.
Coverts (other side): You cannot tell them from neutrals (but see above cheese)
Overts (other side): Will have their faction insignia next to their name, and will be blue if you are covert, red if you are overt.
I hope that's not too confusing.
