Some input from Lucasarts would be appropriate I think at this point - this is just a ridiculous situation now.

You Europeans are such awesome pilots they wanted to give us Americans a head start so that we can compete.

it's because of the revolutionary war and the fact that brits starred in the original movies.
if you're swedish it's because you have more hot blondes than we do
if you're german it's because of WW2
if you're italian it's because you guys make better food than we do
and if you're french......well....we just dont like the french

just import it

My copy was pre-ordered on Amazon.co.uk as a birthday present, and I think it would be innapropriate, not to mention a bit rude to get this order cancelled. Plus, when I imported Star Wars Galaxies way back when, the delivery guy wouldn't hand it over until I had paid twenty pounds import duty - it's hit and miss wether you get charged this, but I do not want to take the chance.

Also, it's not LucasArts, it's not SOE, it's Activision. SOE are powerless at this point. All the distribution companies have all the copies.

I have just been told this
CSR Geoff K.: The offer for the speeder was only for US pre-sales.
thanx again Sony.
and great help for why the JTL is beining Delayed
i quote
CSR Geoff K.: What web site are you seeing that release date from Activision?
Customer: www.play.com and when i call activision today they told me it was now the 15th
CSR Geoff K.: It might depend from distributor to distributor
Customer: there is only on distrubutor that is activision
Customer: but they say it is a delay with the game and SOE is to blame but that is not the case as it is now live
Customer: also what abouit the per-order bonus why will we not get these . play.com told me that they had never hurd of this retail key that activsion should have given them ?
CSR Geoff K.: The offer for the speeder was only for US pre-sales.
CSR Geoff K.: The offer for the speeder was only for US pre-sales.
CSR Geoff K.: Unknown if they will make anything available for UK players.
Customer: why that was not fair
CSR Geoff K.: As far as the release date, there is more than likely some hold up with the distributors. The game is ready to go, and since we are not the distributors I have no information as to why it's being released when it is.
CSR Geoff K.: I am very sorry for the inconvenience.
Customer: i was a beta tester have all the file just need my key and i can play again, this is so unfare and i am not alone in this
CSR Geoff K.: I understand the frustration you guys in the UK feel
CSR Geoff K.: Rest assured the game will be made available to you as soon as is possible.
Customer: the game is at the shop activision are not letting them sell it
Customer: why
CSR Geoff K.: You would need to ask Activision since they are holding it
Customer: can SOE find out as this has to be having a impact on SOE and lucas
Customer: we have they say ask SOE
CSR Geoff K.: We are not the distributor so I'm afraid I have no information on what the status is on the release.
CSR Geoff K.: Have you tried to speak to LucasArts?
Customer: yes they say speak to Activision
Customer: help us please
Customer: can some one at SOE just ask the Queston and help all the UK players Out we are being passed from piller to post
Customer: Activision say talk to SOE, SOE say Talk to LucasArts, LuscasArts say talk to Activision
Customer: can you see the frustration here
CSR Geoff K.: I have asked and the last our corporate offices said was the release date is Nov 5

Powerless? That is open for debate. It's three days away from the supposed launch, and the release date has just been moved. Are you telling us that nobody at either SOE, or Lucasarts knew this was going to happen? Are you telling me that they haven't been informed this is going to happen? Maybe we would find some acceptance in the situation if we were better informed, or had been given any hint of a reason whatsoever why it is ok for some people in certain countries to play, while others have to wait over two weeks.
Still waiting for a reason - SOE, Lucasarts?

First rule of S.O.E. "Do not listen to the CSR's. In most cases they don't have a clue about what they are helping you with."
The flash speeders were a "Gamestop" promo. They were also limited. Gamestop stated from the beginning that the pre-order bonus were available "while supplies last". If you didn't order from Gamestop, you don't get the flash speeder at all. Gamestop may have also limited this offer to U.S. sales. That may be what the CSR was talking about. He should have been more specific though.

Thanks wildman... I didn't want to have to explain that to them. -chuckles-
Edit: -sighs- Looks like I have to anyways. We know SOE and probably LA _know_ but there isn't a damn thing they can do about it. except, perhaps, use someone besides activision _NEXT TIME_.

---------------------------------
I can guarantee you will NOT be hit with import tax on this...
i ordered two copies from Importmadness, i got them both packaged seperatley and valued at $20 so it didnt get charged for import tax!
i will find a digital camera and take a photo of my delivery package for you. to re-assure you, when is your birthday? why not explain the situation of this addon and get them to import it, only takes 3 days if you pay for the shipping
