My copy was pre-ordered on Amazon.co.uk as a birthday present, and I think it would be innapropriate, not to mention a bit rude to get this order cancelled. Plus, when I imported Star Wars Galaxies way back when, the delivery guy wouldn't hand it over until I had paid twenty pounds import duty - it's hit and miss wether you get charged this, but I do not want to take the chance.
---------------------------------
I can guarantee you will NOT be hit with import tax on this...
i ordered two copies from Importmadness, i got them both packaged seperatley and valued at $20 so it didnt get charged for import tax!
i will find a digital camera and take a photo of my delivery package for you. to re-assure you, when is your birthday? why not explain the situation of this addon and get them to import it, only takes 3 days if you pay for the shipping
my birthday is the 8th November. Import duty is hit and miss, like I said - if customs catch it, then you have to pay. Its Vat basically, but they cannot catch every package that comes in. I have got away with a few, got caught for a few. It's not that issue that bothers me greatly to be honest, but the fact that this is a birthday present, and I would basically be saying I didn't want it - which feels a little rude to me :/
I can wait for the game .. I would feel better with an explanation, or a reason .. anything really.

You Europeans are such awesome pilots they wanted to give us Americans a head start so that we can compete.

Stop bitching. Shut the hell up and wait. Damned gaming freaks. Like you can't POSSIBLY go a week or two without Jump to Lightspeed. As if reality itself will collapse if you have to *gasp* go outside and live until it arrives.....

Yep. In the JtL Manual, it clearly says "GAME INTENDED FOR PLAY ONLY WITHIN NORTH AMERICA" on the first page.

only im in the UK![]()
isnt that funny?
funny it may be yeah.
Maybe this game was intended for release in North America only. I have run out of energy. Release it on the 12th, release it on the 12th December 2005. I have no doubt I will continue playing anyway. I have been playing since beta and I still love the game
In general, I just level my Jedi while everyone else is in space.
The guy who said stop bitching - I am sorry you got that impression. I am not bitching .. at least I don't think I am - but isn't it reasonable when the release date gets bumped ... then bumped again to expect maybe a slight hint as to why?
