Im gonna have to agree, things have gotten way to easy. I grinded out freelance when JTL first came out, took me about 1 month playing 1 to 2 hours a night, and it was a real challenge! Now im doing rebel pilot with my alt and im 4433 and ive only been at it a little over a week. So far its been very easy, ive soloed everything and only died once on a tier 2 mission cause it spawned right next to a tier4 spot. For tier4 ive been running the black sun missions and i noticed last night when getting hammered by shots I thought I was gonna die, and looked at my shield health and it was barely scratched. Dont know what is different, are npcs not doing as much dammage? Is rebel pilot really that much easier than freelance or have I gotten that good lol!!

yea, but atleast while you were working on one mob those jousters would be pounding on you and they would slow down to keep pounding on you untill you turned twards them. That sometimes ment you had to stop shooting your target and switch to another. The combat was way more challanging. It was a fight to stay alive all the way. Good times.

Nope, not even close. If you were smart and observant, you'd know who to target first which made multiple jousting mobs almost a non issue.

Just for kicks I created a new char and took the un-modified tie fighter to Endor and hunted tier 3-4 ships. I was quite capable of killing several swarms of 4-6 tier 3-4 ships of various types. NPC missles is what eventually ended the flight (even this could have been avoided if I had gone to a station for repairs).

Ever since the jousting AI and the fast ships were removed the difficulty has gone from 'Bring it on!' to 'Please don't hurt me'.

Devs Please put in some dificult AIs without going overboard.

Heh. Even the jousting AI was easy to beat, once you figured out all you had to do was stop and blast them as they came in.

So what you're saying is, EVERYBODY, regardless of skill, should be able to grind pilot all the way to master, eh?

Then what the heck is the point in the game being twitch based? Why didn't they just make it like Earth and Beyond? In that game, you didn't actually aim at anything, you just kind of turned your ship in the general direction of the enemy, pressed the mouse button, and, if your weapons were high enough level, you'd do enough damage to destroy them.

In other words, turn it into the same mindless xp grind that the ground game has become.

JTL is FAR from super hard. Some people are just better atspace sim games than others. I know I'm not that good at them myself, but with only one or two wingman, I was able to complete all my missions. Then, 5 or 6 of us went after the vette for master at the same time, and with that many, it blows up real easy.

Yes and those people who are hard core sim players will get no challenge out of a AI ever, either they have to be swamped in which those players with lowSituational Awareness would get creamed while the Vet runs a fighting retreat.

The only real challenge will be another player for those who are skilled at these type of games.

I mean come on this is a arcade simulator, not a true one, you can not use flight sim maneuvers in it as speed does not drop in turns or climb type maneuvers.

If you are not being challenged enough down grade your equipment till you are, like try a tier 1 ship in kessel or deep space.

The top fighter ace of all time only had 352 kills.

Let me get this straight. Did they starter of this thread start a Imp toon and levelled it all they way up to master? There are tons of players who stopped trying to master their pilot professions because of the difficulty and lack of help from other players.

I'm a reb pilot and am 3/3/3/3 i'm gonna get 4/3/3/3 and think i'm gonna have to stop there.

for some people yes jtls does seem easy, but there are people like me who find it quite difficult.

leave the difficulty lvl of the game as it is. i would like the option of being able to beat tier 3-4 mobs if i feel like it.as it stands now i still have trouble with multiple tier 4's.

so the difficulty lvl of the game is fine, dont increase it just because of a few more hardcore pilots are more vocal than the not so hardcore pilots.

I agree. Seems this game has been made harder because of the few power gamers. Though, in my opinion, they made some things too easy because of a few that didn't like the struggle to get started. Some of the changes, again in my opinion, should really be rolled back. New content, of course, is great. Give the power gamer something else to do. Don't just punish the rest of us by nerfing everything to make our trip to ace pilot many times more challenging.

One word: practice. The space game is one you MUST practice and warm up for to prepare for missions, you don't just grind your skill tree missions, you have to find some spawns and practice. I think a lot of people miss this distinction between the ground and space games, and as a result many complain that it is too hard.

On the flip side, there are some super hard NPC's out there (can you say aggressors?) but they are not so hard that a little planning and strategy will not beat them. I would like to see some areas a little more populated, however, like Kessel is just about empty and even in areas that are populated, nothing aggro's you unless you attack it. While I'm not sure removing PvP from Kessel was the right thing or the wrong thing, it shouldn't be a place where you can go afk like you can now.

I haven't actually been up in space for a few weeks now. Been FS xp grinding on the ground. But I've noticed the AI on the missions were either ridiculously hard or way too easy. Personally I'm against anything that requires you to group to complete a profession. In that regard I think an easier 'mission for skill' AI is needed. So you can solo through your mastery. However the Deep Space is where things should deffinately be hard. This is where your suppose to group to achieve things. But it shouldn't be part of completing the profession.

Another thing I've noticed is the AI on missions where you've got 'helper' npc ships. They just sit there and get blown away without doing anything really. That needs improved.

Since this seems to be a coding issue though; I don't have an answer for it.
