What types of missiles are there? What kind lock on and all that? Which ones are the best to get? Do I need a certain level oranything specialto use missiles?

Proton - average missile


Concusion - good v shield, crapy v armor (Use with a disruptor and you got a good componation)


Siesmic - Good v armor, crapy v shield (use in conguction with a Ion cannon and you got good combo)


Spacebomb - slow and shrt traking but insane damage (good v capital ships)


Image Rec - High speed long tracking but low damage (good in PvP cuz its the hardes to shake)


You need the launcher and the Missle pack that are the same

Mark I proton launcher needs mark I proton packs

MakrII spacebomb launcherneeds markII spacebomb packs

And so on

just got my y-wing and i have the option to load it with ordanace and i ahve a missile pack. but when i fly i press every button on the keyboard but they dont fire!!!!!! and also i have the option to load two weapons into my fighter but only one of them fires!!!! please help me with this. thanx

You need to load a missle lanucher first before it will accept missle packs (of the same type). The default missle button is mouse two, but you have to lock on first.

Ah the "spoiler info" about the y wing. The normal y wing has a turret that only a second person can fire, so you have to group with someone to use both guns. The longprobe y wing dosen't have the turret, it allows you to fire both weapons yourself.



Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Might be a bit late to get anything done about this, especially with all the new bugs.


But is there anything going to be done about the fact all missiles are useless on NPC ships appart from corvette components? You shoot a MK2 spacebomb (which are damn expensive) at a tier 5 ship gunship and it takes about 1% off the shields, the same with fighters and concussion/proton missiles.


If they only want missiles to be useful vs the corvette and in pvp, why dont they just have 1 type?

I bought 4 packs of proton missiles, 10 missiles in each pack but when im in space and i use the first 10 it says no more ammo. When i goto the manage ship screen and load more than 10 in the launcher it stays at 10 and wont go up. Are there missile packs above 10

You can only load 1 ammo pack at a time. Shipwrights can get the ammo quanity up via experimentation but most choose to use these points to raise max and min damage.

If you are a rebel pilot you will get the ability to reload you missles in space.

Missiles are not something I have used much and I can't find a simple guide.


I am a level 3332 Imperial Pilot flying with Storm Squadron and I would like to know a couple of things please:


1. Missiles seem to come in crates, how do I know what I am certified for? I am guessing I start with the level of thelauncher - is this right? Is there an easy way - i.e all level IV missiles are like level 9 equipement etc?


2. What different kinds are the and what are they good for - to name a few I have seen concussion, ion, space bombs, proton etc.

Correct. And you can't use a MK III ammo on a MK IV Launcher.

Concussion deals alot of damage to the shields and probably 0 damage to armor. Concussion are good for taking down gunboat's shield. Proton does balanced damage to shields and armor. Many prefer protons but I prefer concussion. Seismic (sp?) does armor damage (which i think are quite useless unless combined with concussion. The only time i equip seismic is when I did the corvette. I also have eqipped MK III Seismic on my Nova with 2 protons. I fire the protons first and when the shields are down then I'll fire seismic.


I would like to know how many people are using chaffs? I only use the basic chaff launcher and it works the same as any other chaffs.

I've had JtL since Beta and I have yet to use a missle launcher. Are they worth it?
