How do you get a firespray anyway? I'm sorry for posting such a noob question, but i've only got JTL since yesterday and haven't read much about it.
And plz get the pics as fast as you can.

You need to be a Master at whichever Pilot Profession you chose to be able to fly the Firespray. Then you must buy one from a Shipwright. The Shipwrights don't get the blueprints automatically, however. They have to collect them in pieces from space loot (ship components) that they Reverse Engineer. This makes Firesprays rare and expensive.

To get the firespray schem, a shipwright RE's looted ship parts. Each time he/she RE's something (reverse engineering), there is a CHANCE that a fragment of the schematic will be recieved. From my experience, it's about 0.5% of the RE's drop a fragment. There are 8 fragments you have to collect in order to form the finished schematic. The schem is limited use, but can be 3, 5, 7 uses. I personally got my Firespray last night, and believe you me...it is SWEET. It's not as fast as some of the other ships (Interceptor/Advanced) but the acceleration/decelleration/turning are all top notch. The guns take a little getting used to (about an hour) but are very neat to use if you're a good pilot and can use the offset guns to your advantage. 220k Mass makes it able to hold pretty much a full loadout of gear even at level 10 stuff. All around, it IS the best ship out there. Good work on the part of the devs making a ship worthy of the insane amounts of RE'ing it takes to get one. (oh...and for those of us who use the cockpit frame...the field of view is BEAUTIFUL)

You know, before the mass increase, I always thought of it as like a really espensive Y-Wing Longprobe that makes for a larger target. But now that it is up to 220K mass, I must admit it is a VERY tempting purchase.

The Y-Wing's are good mass/tanks...but they just can't even come close to comparing to the handling of the Firespray. When you can beat A-wings/Interceptors in acceleration and turning, and have more mass than the other starfighters, it's an overall win/win. Like I said, it DOES have it's downsides, the gun placement takes getting used to (I spent an hour killing Tier 1 kimogila fighters to get used to it. =P)...and when turned just right, the glare off of the control panel can be a bit bright...but the rest of the good things outweigh the "negatives". What can I say? It's the only ship that an Imperial Pilot can texture/paint...that's good enough for me! LOL!

I've actually had pretty good success playing "tag" with my friend in his Firespray when using my Longprobe. In a long run, the Firespray dusts the Longprobe, no doubt. But up close, while the Firespray was edging me considerably, I was keeping on its rear. I would assume he was using his reward engine, but then again, who knows. And I am sure the tables turn greatly in favor of the Firespray when it comes to dealing with multiple targets. I'm definitely looking forward to getting a hold of one, at least to play with it for a while. I will admit, the profile makes me fear an easy shot on my backside, but with 220K mass, there should be some insane shielding there. Actually, one of my PA just picked up a Firespray (I shudder to think of how rich he is, since he referred to it as an "impulse buy"). So maybe I will play tag with him, and see if the first guy was just sputtering around.

Agreed. I have a 103.3 speed engine in mine, and with engine overload 3, I can just about keep up with an average Awing.
My cruise speed is 1208, 1495 with boost, and optimum turning speed is 995.

I run reactor overload 4, engine overload 4, and weapon overload 3...cruising at about 1300...boosting into the 1700s...it's not a dragracer...but for dogfighting...it's awesome. (dragracing is an interceptor that can hit 2k speed)
