Im sorry but without unlinked fire this game is just missing that edge. Instead of that fast adrenaline rush of "zapzapzapzapzap" we get a nice slow boring "zap...zap...zap....zap...zap" i mean, the x wings, interceptors, and firespray, to name a few, had that fast flurry of shots. Devs, please find a way to implement this. Sign if you agree or post opinions.

That woulda invovled more coding, more lag prediction, and more continuity than the DEV's were willing to do.

I achieve this manually by assigning my blasters to separate weapon groups with separate buttons.. I then delay using the second button to get a linked effect. I tried using the "fire weapon group and cycle next" but it doesn't seem to work as well as my other method.

You can move all your projectile weapon into one group and fire them with one single key or joystick button.

By puting 3 weapons in 3 different weapon groups and cycling them each time you fire, you'll have an almostcontinuous beam of firing.

The fire is unliked. Thats why each weapon takes up one slot. The animation just shows two shots. If you want flurry shots though, just do what the others have said. put In separate groups and just click one click other click one click other.

He is talking about stutter fire. In Any Star Wars movie you can see X-Wings using it where it fires one weapon at a time and cycles through the weapon.
In this game one weapon uploaded represents two weapons on your ship. Even using the grouping commands to get some type of stutter fire still does not actually do it.
You use stutter fire vs command ships and also to reduce the load on your cap because it uses less each cycle and can recharge a bit faster since the energy used would actually be in half if the weapons fired at the same rate.
Every SW game I have ever played that uses ships has this option except this one.
8 - firing weapon 0 - weapon not firing
This usestwo identicleweapons using 24.0 energy at 0.35 speed and 1500 max power
As is:
first cyclesecond cycle
8 0 0 8
\/ --- \ / --- Time elapsed - 0.7 seconds
/ \ --- / \ --- Energy consumed - 48.0
0 880 Damage Delt - max 3000
Stutter Fire:
first cyclesecond third fourth
8 0 0 0 0 8 0 0
\ / --- \ / --- \ / --- \ / --- Time elapsed - 1.4 seconds
/ \ --- / \--- / \ --- / \ --- Energy consumed - 48.0
0 00 80 08 0 Damage Delt - max 3000
Obviosly there are tradeoffs, but that's just it. This can help those with poorer aim and vs capital ships where it help to have your capacitor last longer. In all it help your cap lvl a lot since it is firing half your weapon it uses half the energy.
This can also be done halving the time if using stutter fire, where you would use the same amount of energy in the same amount of time. Something like that can also help hit those pesky maneuverable, smaller ships (TIEs, A-Wings) since you have a faster weapon speed and can fill up an area with laser fire. Even though it would be less strong you would have a better chance on wearing down and hitting your target.
EDIT: forgive the poor diagram as it doesn't seem to like staying as-is once commited.
HAHA! Editing made it better! But that's as good as it gets, folks.

I placed my 2 "projectile" weapons in seperate groups on my firespray. Mapped "Fire and Cycle Current Weapon group" to my trigger on my joystick...shoots and sounds as fast as Slave 1 in Episode 2.

/SIGN x 50, when I saw the trailers to this game and saw their fire, I was dissapointed.. This needs to be Implemented, 1 single shot at a time Instead of the 2. (No, not using 2 weapon slots, using ONE).
