This may sound newb, but how do you use or create the commands to use with your droid in your space? didn't make a lot of sense in the book, I have tier 1 pilot and have basic commands I can use, but dont know how to access them, thanks

Check the "How to use JTL's new 'Space' droid features" post in the Game Guides forum.

The basic process is:

1) Buy a blank chip froma DE

2) "Burn" a program onto the chip. This is handled from a radial menu option on the chip, which brings up a dialog box of all programs you know.

3) Buy a flight computer from a DE. If you fly an X-wing, Y-wing, and maybe a couple other ships you can also get an R-x droid with a data module.

4) Select the burned chip and select "Transfer to datapad". This puts the program icon into your datapad (note: these programs take up a lot of space at higher levels, make sure your datapad has room).

5) Open the data module of the flight computer, and drag the program from your datapad into the Flight computer.

6) Buy a droid interface component from a shipwright, off the bazaar, or looted from a space NPC. Lower "command speed" numbers are better. This stat is a "number of seconds" delay between commands, and higher-level programs take longer before the flight computer can execute another command.

7) Load droid interface onto ship.

8) Load flight computer onto ship

9) Launch into space. Go to your "commands" window (ctrl-a on default keymap), go to the "space" tab, and you should now see all the available programs.

Note: I've been seeing the flight computer get unloaded after logging out, get into the habit of double checking whether it's installed or not before each launch.

I've been thinking about buying an astromech droid for this purpose, but can't seem to find an answer for a question I have.

Do I need a droid with a big datapad? Does each chip take up one slot in the pad?

One of my other characters (not my rebel character) has an R2 unit with a decent datapad, but I think the size of the datapad depends on the modules the DE puts into it. I'm guessing an R5 unit will hold less modules and therefore less programs thatyou can give it.

My low level pilot hasn't started using droid programs in his ship yet, but I'm wondering if there are things to consider when buying a droid.

Flight computers and droids have a level to them the astromech level, you need to be certified to use the level you buy , basically they both are data storage units to hold the programs you use in flight.

Sometimes I wonder if they are even working....I wish there was somekind of like Ship Grid which shows what power is going where and what the commands are doing to your ship...like weapon tuning 4 ya it says it did but i cant see it....is there a graph or something that im missing?

WO3 does the job of tuning, oddly enough. All of the IV-level commands seem to be bugged.

All EO4 and WO4 seem to do is be extremely good at frying systems unless you have a godly reactor.

is there a chart showing what power is going....kinda like the buff little tab that shows your buff and how much longer the buff is gonna last...there should be something like that

would it be possible for a rebel pilot to have an imperial pilot program a ready chip with bomber stike 3 and be able to use it as a rebel pilot?

Bomber strike is not a droid program its a "Stunt" different skilltree.

No.

The bomber strikes are pilot specials, not droid commands. Pilot specials can't be programmed into a droid.

Hey all, I'm a pilot 3222 (couldn't wait to get that next ship, I know its gonna kill me for not getting components first). I haven't actually used a droid until now. I have one and it is programmed with two commands. I associate the droid with the ship and launch. While in space I press Control-A and look under Astromech and my programs are not there. How do I use the droid programs?
