Thread: Why do people continue to bring up Coruscant?

The Devs have said that Coruscant is impossible to do, due to lag / system limits.
Because its a Dead Horse Issue... as stated by the DEVs that Coruscant is impossable with todays technology...But no one cares to even stop and think anymore before they post another post of extra planets/Coruscant thread... (excluding this present thread)
DHI's are running ramped in this forum...
Lets see what post are to the DHI level!
1) TIEs with Hyperdrives
2) TIEs with Shields
3) TIEs with a Graphic Error on the back of the ship
4) Capital Ships
5) New Planets
6) New Species for JTL
7) Faction in JTL
8) PVP in JTL
9) Ships of JTL
10) Factional Ship Customization <EDIT>
Humm I may be forgeting some.. but I think that covers the top10 post that I have seen most of in the last few weeks...
All I am going to say right now is that we need a JTL Dev, Not a normal SWG Dev to take a day out of their busy production scheduel and compile a JTL update thread and give us some new topics to make into DHI topics...

Actually, Coruscant would be easy to add in the SE...
The catch being that you can't land on anything other than the Golan Platforms orbitting the planet.
It could easily be done as a large, central space sector full of trading ships, Imperial capital ships, platforms, etc.

Haden said that they all want it very much. It's on the list, just as is Hoth and Bespin. However right now development time is very well allocated and the bandwidth required to create this content is just not available. But we can count on the fact that these locations are on the top 10 wish list and will get done over time.
I know we can't put too much store in this, but if you read the reply there, the final answer to the question of Coruscant is this: "[it] will get done over time."

We seriously need some rethought on how to spread people out in theNPC cities. I did hear somewhere a while back that there was a possiblilty of making buildings with floors and apartments, but that was probably a flash in the pan dev response. But then we don't even have reason to go into an NPC city at all do we?? What COULD they do in there that would make people have some adventure there.
The test bed for Coruscant would be Bespin and Kashyyyk, Bespin because it is a floating city with as much built up on the exteria as there would be inside a square block of Coruscant. Kashyyyk would be the test bed for having regions with really tall objects (roshirr trees??) both up close- lived on, and out in the distance that is unapproachable and wild. Its weird how you actually have more oppurtunity for road blocks and 'natural' barriers in a big industrialised city then you would in a open desert planet, yet we don't have an enclosed city map. And thats because there ain't much to do ina city (in SWG terms anyway). so we are back to my original gripe, why build a really huge city map where no one goes and only the Starport is useful??
