why the Bwing is the most unmaneuvrable, the slowest and the worst pilotable starfighter in SWG JTLS? isnt it supposed to be the most modern ship in the Alliance? in all the simulation games of star wars (x-wing, TIE fighter, xwing Alliance...) the Bwing is better than in SWG. i dont want an Awing with 4 canons and 2 missiles, but in theory the bwing must be fair better tha the ywing, and it isnt. actually, its imposible to hit anything smaller than a corellian corvette with it, and its supposed to be designed to destroy nebulon-b (it means, fire power and speed and agility).
you could eliminate a weapon system or a ordnance system, but, please, make it better pilotable!his innercia is horrible and the acceleration speed (even with a good engine) is pathethic.
as i said, i dont want a super fighter with lots of canons, misiles, thousands of mass and, in addition, faster tha any ship in the game, but...
please, make the bwing as good as it must be!

I know you wont believe me but i can dogfight a nest of interceptors in deep space and take them all out faster than in my kryat. You have to have the right loadout and you need to learn how to fly it. There is a special technique to flying a bwing and it includues using the right amount of roll at the right time. basically I can one shot most things since I do about 13k damage per shot, and i can take out a nest of bombers and quick fighters fast.
Experiment with using little bits of roll (not much) to make it so your target does not strafe you. A fast engine and the overload programs help allot, as well as a good ypr on the engine. Use the imperial engine overload commands as well. I can outrun and outmanuver most fighters including awings.
It does take quite a bit of time and the correct loadout to do this, but I eventually became a better "fighter pilot" in my bwing than even in my xwing.
Its something that takes a while, but if you stick with it one day you will "snap". Yes there is oversteering in the B-Wing but a big part of learning to fly the bwing is to anticipate the oversteer and actually use it to your advantage.

good post _crash_ spot on. The Bwing is not the least pilotable, just the least forgiving ship in JtL. I'll freely admit dogfighting takes me more time in my Bwing, but there isnt a fight Ive run into yet that I can't handle in it.

The B-Wing is for the Master Pilots, not just the ones that got the box

No, the problem is and you've illustrated it very well, is that SWG threw out the legacy of the Xwing/Tie Fighter games out the window. Most people learn early on using a joystick in JtL is the worse choice you could make because the mouse just works better. I dont know what they where thinking when they designed JtL, they shoulda just kept to the formula of what made the great Star Wars flight sims great.
If you people think this is good, your not a true star wars ace pilot, your a ace pilot of a pale imitation of true star wars flight.

Hello Rookie. Let me welcome to both the JTL and pilot forums .
Firstly your speil about Xwing, Tie fighter, XvT, XwA, etc.... stop preaching to the choir. ALOT of people in these forums have played those games and loved them. The mechanics of which we've already gone over, a bunch of times. Your complaint there isnt anything new, and people have been complaining about it off and on since beta. I suggest you get used to how JTL is, cause it aint changing anytime soon.
Secondly, your ace pilot remark. In relation to the first remark, i suggest you do what aces do. Adapt to the situation, improvise, and overcome the limitations. If anything, it takes more coordintation to fly the B wing in JTL than it did in the other games. If you can't handle it, who's the ace pilot then? Insulting people here is not the way to make constructive posts, as people like me tend to respond in kind.

umm the bwing isnt ment to be a dog fighter for one. If u knew anything about starwars it was suppose to be an anti-frigate craft.Heavy firepower and shielding has to come wtih some negative parts. The xwing is the best well rounded fighter. Awing is the fastest. Ywing is good at taking punishment and nice weapon load out. Z94 is good a trainer. Geez just casue its a bwing and its in the master box dont mean its gonna own all.

The biggest problem with the bombers and attack craft in this game is that there aren't enough roles for them. We got the Vette and perhaps the Station and Star destroyer in deep space. The rest of the game including all PvP is entirely centered around interceptors and snub fighters. Multiplayer ships are a joke in PvP so the bombers and attack craft have not targets. They worked very hard, for some unknown reason, to make sure that they Y-8 didn't become a good capitol ship for PvP PvE or even mining for that matter.
We will never have good player created PvP and other player related content if they game is just interceptor vs interceptor. These fights get pretty boreing after a while. On Starsider we have tried to have convoy type events and other event senerios but the only thing that works is interceptors and snub fighters flying around trying to shoot each other. That gets old after a while.
Because the game makes it easier to fly interceptors and such it's no wonder people have trouble controling the bombers. Trying to go from A-wing to the B-wing requires an entirely different play stile. Spend some time in the Longprobe and the transition will be easier for you.

I do just fine in my B-Wing. I go out all the time and blow away ships in it. Sure it's difficult to fly, but with enough practice you'll get the hang of it.

Never flown the bwing but I love my tie bomber, I've flown it since I got the cert and into deep space after master. Just quit thinking about speed and learn how to roll it, I have no problem keepin up with awings in my bomber.

denial denial denial, aces, HA. Yes its what we have BUT it doesnt mean its any good, XwA and the like will always be far superior, being an ace in JtL is hardly an accomplisment, being an ace in the Xwing series, is an accomplishment. You guys think your all that in your little exclusive JtL aces club but it hardly proves your a good pilot, just that your used to a flawed system.
Take a look around deep space, the only thing you'll see is the same people you always see, i'll let you figure out why that is.
