Are we supposed to get faction points for killing opposition forces in space? I thought I saw a thread where someone mentioned getting faction points but went up last night and didn't see any increase.
Let me know if any of you are getting any faction points in space.
And if not.. please add your support to including this in a future hotfix/publish.

You need to declare at a factional space station in space to receive faction points from killing ships of the opposite faction.

quoted for Emphasis.
Don't try getting faction points in space unless your willing to engage against another player. If you don't like PvP, dont go overt and get your FP's on the ground.
That said, you can gain ALOT more FP's in space vs the ground for the risk that you take for being overt.

I see.. so the faction points are only for PvP and not any PvE encounters. Well it would be great if you would also get faction XP for killing NPCs. /Wink wink I spend a lot of time in space doing missions working on my piloting skills and all of these kills should go towards my FP.
Do Devs ever actually read these posts or is there a better way to submit suggestions?

You misunderstand... you do get FP for PvE in space, but you must be overt in order to do so. Once you have declared at a faction space station you will get FP for destroying NPC ships of the opposing faction, just make sure you keep an eye open for any overt enemy players or you'll find yourself floating home

No, you gain FP's for killing NPC's, and ironically, not PC's.
Space works on a different ruleset then the ground. If you want faction points, you have to go overt as a declared player. A gunboat will give around 191 FP, and most teir 5 NPCs somwhere between 40 and 59 FP a kill.
However, while declaired, your open to PvP attacks, but thats the risk for the greater FP reward as it is currently.

And waht a good reward it is for us die hard pilots. I may not be able to kill composite robots on the ground but I can teach x-wing squadrons a thing or two

Ok so being decalared in space, FP's being accrued dont seemed to be very much. I went to the Endor Imp space station to go to deep space and they said I needed 30K Fp's ...?? What is in deep space anyway?? Also in Kessel all the Blackholes .. its pretty cool view there. I wonder if they will unlock missions to courosant planet there.?

I totally agree, and the faction I get in space gets me a dark trooper now and then to keep my arse safe wandering Rebel controlled Coronet.
You have to have pilot prestige to get into deep space, which means you have to be an ace in your chosen affiliation. And there is a nice big star destoryer, and evil rebel space station. MILLIONS OF REBEL CORVETTES, NOVAS, FIGHTERS (DAMN A-WINGS!)!. I love deep space, always there. ohh and bunches of TIEs and the occasional decimator and gunboats for us Imperials.

If your not making alot of FP in space, your killing the wrong npc ships. Teir 4's are BARELY worth going overt for, teir4's to me is slumming it. Teir5's is where its at.
Deepspace is a PvP battlezone. Its also chocked full of more corvette and gunboat formastions wirth swarms of fighter escorts then you can shake a stick at alot of times. Whole zone is teir 5. You can only access Deepspace if your a master/ace pilot.
You can also kill teir5's in kessel, although the spawns are really spread out and you'll have to fly around some to find them.

They said you need 30k Prestige points, not Faction points. Prestige is what you earn after you get Master, and you can only go to Deep Space in a ship with a Master, or if you are one.
