I started too late and got the nerfed 79 speed enginethe tier 3 reward. The only other engine ivelooted thats faster is a 80.1 speed lvl10 one. Everything else ive got is around the 74max speed mark.. no matter the level..
I know SW's can make faster engines than that.. but they always have crap YPR's of around 50.
Anyone looted a decent lvl6-8 engine since the reward nerf? I just want to know if im going to have to bite the bullet and just get used to crap manouverability..or crap speed.

Well, it's not looted, but I have a crafted engine in a ship with a top speed of 90 with PYR of about 50 (not as good as the reward engine, which I have in another ship, but pretty decent none the less).
I believe it's a Mark IV engine, so whatever the cert level that is. Might be 7 or 8?

It's funny...I looted a Level 1 engine with 64.4 speed and a PYR of 59.7, which is far better than any other engine up to level 8 that I've ever looted (except the reward engine of course). It has a low mass, so I use it in a light fighter. Works well with engine overload.

I looted a 96.8 speed engine a while back, before the nerf. High-ish mass though, it's going on my Nova

yer just been through the SW forum looking for crafted stats.. not promising at all.. theres a great practical difference between 50 and 80 YPR enginesmatey.
if they are changing deepspaceto have no decay... and as it is almost impossible to die to tier4 stuff in the other zones if you are an ace... then these 100+ 80YPR engines will logically be around forever. And anyone who doesnt have one is at an instant huge disadvantage with regards to dogfighting in PvP.
Whats our correspondants thoughts on this?

yer ive seen 72speed lvl2 stuff still.. just seems that the max speed on all engines (no matter the level) is now capped at around 80ish..
your just going to end up with a certain lucky proportion of the pilots out there able to fly with the throttle at 60% - maintaining around 900 speed - yet being able to turn on a dime. yet all the rest of us poor bastards have to max throttle to keep up.. which costs us heavily on turning speeds (which are already nasty cos of the 50YPR's on crafted engines).
or have i got this all completely wrong??? please say if i have.

your best bet is to loot a lot of level 6 or higher engines and have them all RE'd...with good ones you can get around 95+ with low mass....but then again....its hard to find them that good in the first place.

I've looted a lot of 70ish ones with bad PYR in the last 3 days.....get a lot of high 60's too.....but they are almost always level 8 - 10 though.

3 Engines in the last 2 day's, LVL6 andtwo LVL10 with speeds of 89.5, 83.2 and 85.2
wherest the 89.5 is a RE'd one

I looted a MarkII way back with 50s/60s/50s in the Y/P/R and 79.0 speed. I've used this thing in every ship I own, as I have YET to find one better.

I managed to get a level 8 with top speed of 84.xx and a level 6 with the top speed of 76.xx...I have enough looted engines of both levels to get Y/P/R REd on both of these into high 60's to very low 70's. I do have my 92 speed reward engine, but it is sitting on a shelf for PvP only. For now I am using a crafter M5 engine with a top speed of 100 and Y/P/R around 50.

Befor the nerf i looted a good engine, and after revers enginiring it , it got better. My inferno engine is now a lvl 6 engine with 95.9 speed and avarage for yaw, roll, and pitch are around 69. Its a nice engine and i will not give it up.
