Space stations.

Imperials should be able to dock with a star destroyer and leave their ship. Look around inside a SD, and obtain missions from within this badboy. There should be a medcenter, and a cantina, as well as a repair facility for your ship. Additionally you should offer some type of NPC that you can sell ship parts to, or modify your existing ship for a cost.

This same feature should be available to rebels as well, maybe in the form of a deep space station (since rebels had no major battle cruiser to allow alot of people to dock).

Heck even the new death star should be available to dock at if you are imperial.

But one thing I know for certain:

Forcing us to land all the time to obtain new missions is nothing more then a time sink.

Also it should be a full SD, not just certain areas. I wanna go visit the bridge of it and watch as Imperial & Rebels clash nearby.

ok I agree to a certain extent except:

Rebels should have to go to the surface to get all those services (med center, cantina, etc). We are in hiding after all (I am a rebel)!

BUT rebels should be able to ATTEMPT to dock at an Imperial space station (with a neutral ship chassis of course) (perhaps in the future. Imperial fighters might drop "transponder code") which has a % of chance of success. So lets say, I get my code, then I approach an Imp space station. The guy asks me for the code, I give it too him, but he decides the code is fake. Well then he sends a few tie's after me to chase me off, or attempts a tractor beam lock, at which time I get warped into the landing bay and have to deal with some quick hand-to-hand combat.. stuff like that would be really cool I think, and consistent with Star Wars.

The rebels had no ship even 1/4 the size of a star destroyer.

Not trying to defend the Rebels here but actually those Mon Calamari cruisers were VERY big and I believe Home One was 1,200 meters long while a regular Star Destroyer is 1,600 meters long. So a little smaller yes but still very big and formidable.

Granted, but the Rebels did have the Medical Frigates. Nebulon B's. The Nebulon B is more than a quarter of a Star Destroyer...length-wise, at least. If you were to reduce the Star Destroyer to key areas (Bridge, Medical Bay, Fighter Bay, Mess Hall, etc), and the Nebulon B to the same size, that would be fair.

Rebels should not have to land on the surface for med centers and stuff. Thats pretty stupid. They have Medical Frigates with Bacta Tanks on them. In fact, I think pretty much every Rebel ship of Frigate size and above (not the Corvettes, but anything bigger) had Bacta Tanks in their Medical Bays. The Rebels are supposed to be in hiding, yes. If they're hiding...why would they be going to public medical facilities, especially if they have their own?

Continuity is not an issue in SWG/JTL only balance - it the Imperials get something you can bet the DEVs have a similar system for the Rebels (and non faction)

Dracona - JTL Beta test

Seathrun(xINCx) - Tempest

The deathstar shouldn't be ingame yet as we're playing right after the destruction of the first one......
