Yeah...this was an idea that was kicked around during Beta. Well, actually, we begged for it. I mean, I've got to run to Jabba's palace every time I want to attempt my still-broken tier 4 mission that is currently unbeatable. I feel sorry for the folks that have to run all the way to the Emperor's Retreat on Naboo...at least there's a player city on my server near Jabba's. I think the idea of space stations was on the JtL Wish List since Day One.
Misfortunately, with JtL being shipping with, let's say, less-than-optimal playability (some missions were broken in beta and they're STILL broken....), I think that the devs will be busy stamping out all the bugs for a good while yet. New content? Maybe in a few months to a year or so. More fighters (I still think it's stupid that the RSF uses HUTT fighters...HUTTS!...when they have their own Royal Naboo N-1 starfighter), space stations, more capital ships in space....REAL space battles...maybe it will happen.
But I wouldn't hold my breath.
Instead, here's a list of features you'll probably see instead:
...Jedi mind tricks.
...the option to make a Jedi character from the start instead of working for it.
...Ewoks as a playable race. ("Duros? What the hell are those? Been in space as long as humans and are as influential? Bah, we don't need them in our game! Let's put Ithorians in there instead....")
...Force Adept as a profession.
...Better types of armor that reach 99% base effectiveness.
...More twinking of melee classes to make them even more uber733t.
...Advanced buffs that will trump existing buffs.
...Elves as a playable race.

Space stations.
Imperials should be able to dock with a star destroyer and leave their ship. Look around inside a SD, and obtain missions from within this badboy. There should be a medcenter, and a cantina, as well as a repair facility for your ship. Additionally you should offer some type of NPC that you can sell ship parts to, or modify your existing ship for a cost.
This same feature should be available to rebels as well, maybe in the form of a deep space station (since rebels had no major battle cruiser to allow alot of people to dock).
Heck even the new death star should be available to dock at if you are imperial.
But one thing I know for certain:
Forcing us to land all the time to obtain new missions is nothing more then a time sink.
Yes the rebels used a few kinds of major battle cruisers...like calamari cruisers and that one thats shaped like an upsidedown U

Yup, the Mon Cal had a LOT of ships...they had a whole fleet of cruisers that had, before the Rebellion, been equipped as luxury liners. When the Mon Cal homeworld is liberated (I've never seen exactly when this happens...) the Mon Cal actively join the Rebellion and start refitting all their ships for battle. So, I'm guessing that as the course of the Galactic Civil War progresses, more and more Mon Cal cruisers will start making appearances. Of course, how this ties into JtL is anyone's guess....

An MC90 (post ROTJ, basically a Mon Cal Cruiser better equipped) Was the first non imperal vessel that was able to take on a ISD and keep coming back for more, are you crazy? You think if a cap ship is less than 5 miles long it is physically impossible to dock with it? If I remember correctly Han Solo Was able to dock his YT-1300 to a Nebulon B FRIGATE!
