TIE interceptor hands down = fast, enough mass to make it deadly lethal, handles like a cat on velcrow
Tie Bomber Thumbs Down = Slow, handles like an elephant on an ice rink. Pro = Massive Mass

Well, the interceptor would probably be your best bet. It is fast and hard to hit. But it also has relatively low mass and requires you to pick your components carefully. The bomber on the other hand is usefull for attacking capitol ships. It has alot of mass, 2 guns, and two ordinance slots. But it is easy to hit and very slow. It wont last vs. fighters. Hope this helped.

I swear ive been asked this question 4 times yesterday in game
My answer to the question is a question.
Can you as a pilot, fly slow, low manuverablty ships effectivley against fighters? If you can, go for it. Its like flying a ryxirk with better visiblity, but 1 less guns (heh). If not, go for the T/I.
That said, the T/I is an awesome dogfighter. I still use it.

noob = interseptor / fast and agile to run and hide for n00b players who care not for skill but speed. (anyship that goes faster then 500slu during combat sucks
Pro = bomber / takes skill to use effectivly turning slow speed slow but if you know how to turn correctly IE use throttle for a change
you can arm this beast to the teeth and come out laughing with the right combo of weapons, missiles, engen, (go for yaw & roll more then speed.) armor & shielding.
interseptor is a little weaker maybe better handelin but your not out there to dance with your enemys are you

That is by far one of the most opinionated bull**t statements i've ever had the misfortune of reading on this forum. By his definition ace pilots should be flying cargo freighters, and novice pilots T/A's or A wings.

Against fighters? Interceptor. Against everything else? Bomber.

LOL, if he said TIE Interceptor is easier for beginners to pick up since it candogfight at 100% throttle withoutlosing maneuverability, then I'd agree.

I've seen this asked many times, and having flown both of them for equal amounts of times, I can tell you that honestly, for the grind up to tier 4 skills tyhat let you get a TIE/A, the BOMBER, not the Interceptor, is your best bet. Using engine and weapon overload commands, in combination with the extremely high mass, make it a very deadly weapon. It DOES take more thought to fly than an interceptor, due to its lower speed/turning threshold (whoever said the Interceptor turns at best speed at 100% throttle doesn't know what they're talking about...no ships have best turning speed at max throttle). The Bomber can be more difficult to handle, but with a good engine and engine overload programs, you'll have no problem dogifghting NPC A-wings in all tiers. The amount of damage you lay down is just that much better. I was able to do things in a bomber that I was never able to do in an Interceptor.
Now, once you hit 4/4/3/3, everything can change. TIE/A is a more capable dogfighting ship, and you could justifiably switch over to it from a bomber. And for PvP? Well...you shouldn't need to be PvPing at all until you're master, and can go to deepspace. TIE/B is the most capable when handling NPCs before master level, and is thus the ideal choice for the grind on the way up.

Interceptor does turn at 100% throttle without losing maneuverability. I tested that myself. The Advanced can do 85%, above it you'll start losing maneuverability.

Turning rate on the YPR on both ships is the same.
As for throttle adjustments for best possible turn circle, ive tended to use 90% throttle on both. Although i gotta admit its more noticable in a T/A than a T/I.
