Will there ever be a point where, a Pilot can gain so many point the that pilot could be able to pilot ANY ship in the game, no matter the faction.

that is a good idea but it would be kinda silly if you could pilot any ship...how would an imp be able to slip into a reb ship and do reb missions without the inquistion finding him and destroying him....... i would think it would be kinda cool to slip into the privateer ships....like maybe taking skill points to do so...however that would suck for privateers....maybe making it so privateers could pick imp or rebel the same way...but this wouldnt work

Hi

just leave it as it is, the only time that needs to happen is if its called for in a special mission, but only lasts for that mission

NO CAPTAIN, I SEE NO SHIPS JUST HARDSHIPS

I personly feel as though the certifications for flying ships should be seperate from that of the pilot skills, but obviously Imperial can't learn Rebel and visa versa, nor can privateer learn Imp or Rebel. It only makes sense. After all, why couldn't someone that works for the rebellion as a fighter pilot also happen to have a private ship of their own on the side? You really think any time they want to go out for a quick cruise that they are gonna use their X-Wing?

It would? How? As I recall, Han was able to pilot an IMPERIAL shuttle in Return of the Jedi. And with him being a member of the Alliance, that's cross-faction ship piloting.

The Imperial shuttle is no ship a player can get, so maybe SoE can free it up for everybody.
but to have all pilots able to use any IMP/REB or Neutral ship he or she want´s would really
ruin the game. Imagine a army of TIE Aggressors attacking Imperial NPC´s because Rebels fly
them O_o kinda fudges up teh story entirely. Not to mention the boredom if suddenly only the
same Ship is flying around (After the server finds out wich chassis is best).

Nah, it´s good the way it is. Only thing they should do is give the Firespray to Neutrals,
as it should be (we have no Master Ship, us neutrals) and maybe do the IMP Shuttle as the
way the FSP is now

I agree they need to change the ship certs, but they should REALLY do it this way.

Keep the certs the way it is going up to Ace, but once you reach ACE, you get certed for the 2 ace ships, but you also get RE-Certified for the rest of the ships, but they are able to hold more mass.

IE: My jedi, who is a privateer pilot, currently runs around in a syck fighter. I love that thing. The only other thing I would really fly would be a medium hutt fighter. However, because of weight restrictions, I can't have any upper level equipment on it. Which basically means that this ship is always going to be a craptacular floating target that will get ripped apart by anything that moves.

However, if, at ace, I was RE-Certed for all the fighters, but highly modifiable versions (read: MORE available mass), I could fly my beloved light hutt fighter, like one would an A-wing. Ultra fast!!!

uh a-wings are suppose dto be the fastest ships in the game *cough* and they take a huge hit mass wise they only have 64k mass. now how would itbe if you had an a-wing with 100k mass that still flew like it did before. wouldnt make sense

what i think should happen is this. Have the mass as a guide to the maximum amount it can hold and operate like it was meant to. BUT if you want to add more weight you can, it would just adversley affect the max speed and/or manuverability

eh, it was just a thought, more for the PVP aspect, hell, i dont see why rebels can't steal any ship. Rebels are supposed to be a rag tag group, just make them paint big rebel insignia's on the ships, and as an after thought, imps flying reb ships will be a little out of place.

ya just to let you know if your comparing SWG and the movies then that would mean Han Solo was Rebel on ground and Priveteer in space (he just chose to help out the rebels in space)
and he was never formally in the rebelian until the last movie. he just help out in the other ones
