So, when you destroy a ship do the loot parts (if any) just automatically go to your ships inventory like poof, and they'r there. Or can we expect to see a tractor beem pulling it in? I just think it would be really cool if they did it via a tractor beam...this is more of a suggestion than a question.
Also, I wonder what happens if you try to trade things you loot in space with people on the ground who don't have JtL? Or if you drop it in a house where they have admin, can they pick it up...yeah not likely.
And another thanks to Cuality for all that hard work on getting that info...and all the others who were there and pitched in, even though cuality had covered most of it before they got the chance.

If I remember correctly, the loot items would be instantly transferred to one's inventory.

Hm... I was just wondering the same thing... I doubt the non-JTLers would be able to see or even obtain the item.
Question:
It has been said that one can disable another person's engine systems and leave them there, drifting in space. It has also been said that distress calls will be implemented. Thus, other ships can come to your aid while you are drifting along, correct? Well, what could they do? The only way I would think they could help is if tractor beams are implemented and they could haul you over to the nearest space station...
Hm..

I'd suspect that there will be a patch sooner or later that will allow even people without JtL to see components dropped in a house. Just a graphics file so they can see the things but not actually interact with them.

im sure someone mentioned that shipwrights will be able to do minor repairs ut in space. Those of you that played earth and beyond...think of the jumpstart skill that the JE's and PE's had. Sounds like it would have similar implimentation in SWG...

Well, I don't know about a Tractor Beam for such menial tasks, but I'd like to see a Tractor Beam as a tactical weapon, for limitatting ships speed and manoeuverability, like in theX-Wing series...
And getting close to a capital ship sure get hazardous when he can snatch you out of the sky like a buzzing fly

The guide on space mining is coming as soon as the devs clear the NDA.

It goes in the weapon slot of any ship. you just aim and fire (hold down the trigger) on any of the small asteroid chunks and it brings them in. Its a bit tricky, but you get a better yield than by just shooting the rocks.

You are given a tractor beam for a mission where you need to use it - or a shipwright can craft one using asteroid resources

625 units of Iron, Crystal, Methane and Carbonaceous Asteroid.
It's probably quicker to reach the point in the quests where you get one.

While this might be true, I found that the reward tractor beam is pretty much useless. While it does increase the yield by 2 to 3 times, I found that it took4 to 5 times longer to reel asteroids in using this tractor. I am hopeful that the player crafted tractor beam performs better.
