Thread: Ideas to make JtL as deep as the ground game.
2- Docking with other player ships. Players should be able to "dock" with other players multipassenger ships and enter it. Their own ship will simply be packed up into their datapad until they decide to leave.
This would allow merchants and entertainers much more of a reason to "set up shop" in space where players can dock with their ship and see what they're offering at will.
3- New missions that involve using ground skills. I'd love to get a quest to board a disabled npc ship to see what happened to the crew and go inside and get attacked by some strange aliens and have the self destruct timer go off and have to run back to my ship before it blew
Alright, those are 3 from me. What else can you think of to make space a much deeper experience.
What do we get now? Freakin' episode 3 obi-won trash.
1- Multipassenger ships that can be operated by one player. This would be a ship roughly the size of the current stock of MP ships, but they wouldn't really be as durable or as tough as those ships. They would use about the same firepower and armor as a fast attack craft, but players can fire weapons while piloting themselves.
My reason for this is simple: Since the day JtL came out I've had people in my MP ship 3 times. Two times on the first day, and once when Iw as just showing it to a noob.
Let's be honest, with the way JtL is set up...the quests don't really let players focus on the MP type of ships. There aren't really any missions geared ESPECIALLY for it.
As I type, I'm in my nova courier...just decorating it and going through my inventory...It'd be great when some random ships attack me...I could actually fight back.
It's not about being in an "uber" ship, it'd just be about the experience of being able to fight in space then get up from the seat and do other things without HAVING to have other players to make the ship function.
Space smuggling should be included as well. Smuggler-only content, of course.
Totally agree with the ideas in this post.
Docking with space staions is a must!!
I would also like to see collision damage (minor damage)
Space chases, maybe through an asteroid field, taking the above damage into consideration of course ![]()
It totally frsutrates me when I kit my ships out inside and no one ever gets to see them. I would love more community interaction ta take place in space. Really beef it up somewhat.
i'd like to add my thoughts on this,
1) sliced ship parts, this would give slight preformance increases to the parts in one area the lose preforamnce in an other ex. slice engine for speed would add a 5% increase to max speed but lose 5% to YPR
2) Blocades, we should every now and then be searched by the controlling faction for contraband, jedi's and opposing faction. if you are in a POB there should be a bording party that enters the ship and you are givein a few options as to what you can do, let them search, try and smuggle your cargo ( hide ) or stand and fight. if you fail to hide or fight once the NPC's are taken care of there ships will attack you.
3) space should be cold and unforgiveing when ever your in space you should be in constant fear of attack, between pirats, the empire or rebellion and other crime groups you are not in good standing with.
4) ISD's corvetts and other large ships should be seen in every sector of space, maybe off in the distance or flying through the sector every few days. this would add to the feel of oppression and fear.
5) as stated above docking with POBs and stations. when a fighter is docked with a POB it is attached to the docking port and is subject to damage if attacked.
6) launchable escape pods, when i eject i want to see my escape pod launching and heading to the station.
7) also the ability to land my ship in starports ( have it instance based ) so when i choose to land my ship goes to autopilot and i fly down through the atmospher and land at the starport of my choice. same idea for launch, instance load of my ship and i can walk into it if its a POB and then a launch sequance would take place.
8) missions the effect the GCW, space battles should effect the GCW. once a week there should be a huge spce event that can help turn the tide and compleated objectives have effects on the war.
9) BountyHunters should beable to give chase in space, if you are being hunted by a BH then space shold not be remotly safe for you. high profile rebls, smuggles, and Jedi shold all be able to have bounties on them. this is a time of fear and the Empire is not all about being fair. if you choose to be a reble then you choose to be hunted.
thats all i can think of now but i'm sure i can think of more things to add later =)
Well... all of those ideas rocks... and well.. have been mentioned alot before..... but the number 1 is awesome! i want that!

1- Space stations that players can dock with and walk around in. All types of shops, entertainment and underworld elements could be here. Imagine walking around and seeing some twilek dancers doing their thing as you walk by the stations cantina only to see a spice dealer approach you with a quest...it'd be great.

But I digress, in the name of keeping this thread positive I'll post another idea:

This is the same type of backwards thinking that the devs do... instead of fixing the problem, you create some type of work around. Instead of doing what YOU suggest how bout the devs do this:
Make incentive for players to group up into a POB ship in space. (i leave that incentive up to those brainiac devs)
While i'm on the topic of devs that make bandaids instead of cures... let's have a look at the following:
Incentive to use missiles
incentive to use countermeasures
incentive to use droid programs besides the over charges
incentive to be different races
incentive to be in space besides cash/faction farming
incentive to set up hospitals in player cities
incentive to set up cantinas in player cities
incentive to be a merchant without being a crafter
incentive to be a droid engineer
incentive to be a carbineer
incentive to be a creature handler
incentive to be a ranger
incentive to be an entertainer
incentive to pvp
incentive to make bases, capture bases, involve myself in gcw what-so-ever
incentive to play post maxing out a jedi (ie frs? quests? content?)
incentive to group, raid, team play in pve
