Thread: I WANT MORE SPACE STUFF TO DO!!!!
Really needs more factions in space.
I dont mean just Rebels & Imperials, but pirates (Jabba, etc) or even the simple functionality to be able to disabled a craft, board it, kill the crew, steal the cargo and sell it on the black market ![]()
Im a big fan of freedom of choice in any game, and Space is the biggest place to have freedom, but it seems that were forced into Rebs Kill Imps, Imps Kill Rebs and Neutrals kill either.
It would be really cool to gain a reputation in space as a law man or a pirate, so that some space stations wont let you dock, or the Imperials increase thier presence at some places.
I know that alot of our suggestions pritty much point in the direction of 'Wait for Elite 4' but if you could combine all the best elements of the 'Elite' series and the story of Star Wars, im sure that you cant go far wrong with JTL.

totally agree with you there. there is sooo much more that the devs could add to space to make it feel more like star wars.
for starters they could make it so that the GCW on the ground and in space are connected. like if the imps control a planet there should be maybe a corvette or two in orbit and let the rebs try to take it out (and visa versa). also, on the same lines if the rebs were to start attacking imp transports that could affect the ground game by decreasing the number and strength of imp npc (cutting their supply lines and taking out their reinfocments). stuff like that could go a long way to giving us stuff to do.
as far as space stations and things like that... come on. they have had the guts of a station since the game launched but they don't use it at all in JTL. they could just take the interior of the station we start in and use it for the interior of the main planetary space stations.
well there is really so much that could be said and done that i'm just gonna stop now.

however, dropping new planets isn't bad. at least they are adding something to the game.
On space, yeah, we need more. we need POI's in space where there is actively NPC ship battles going on. (no kessle doesn't count, kessle is a joke)
and we need boardable space stations with cantinas. and NPC's that give GOOD story driven quests. We need to be able to dock ship to ship: like pull a yacht up to a Decimator and be able for the decimator crew to 'board' the yacht and search the occupants. would be AWESOME roleplay responsibilities with a docking feature.
I wholeheartedly agree but I think that the sad act is that Jedi outnumber us pilots about 10 to 1 and so that is where the market is for adding new content. I've always loved space. Hell, I -live- in Deepspace and well, space in general when I'm ingame. I had an idea I posted for a system which was basically just a bunch of asteroids with landable 'city' style areas on them. Some asteroids would be dungeons like the Death watch bunker and the general architecture for this system would make an ideal place for pvp events and maybe even a racing obstacle course for pilots where the inhabitants of the cities would look up (I'd have the citys have large glass domes to keep atmosphere in) and be able to see starfighters zipping aroudn etc.
Now that kind of idea would cater for everyone, not just pilots. Don't ask me how pheasable it is though.

The sad sad part is if they actually made interesting space content, maybe that ratio would improve dramatically.
My account runs out tomorrow and I am not renewing until major space content is added. I played the SWG trial a long time ago and didn't sign up, and finally bought and account the day JLS was released. I played, got up to CL80 on the ground and aced and pvped in space, but space is the only thing that has any interest and its just totally void. The POIs are a joke....they are just frame rate killers you can buzz for no reason.
I'd even accept the idea of adding things that help jedi on the ground (crystals etc) that can be looted from space combat just to get more people in the stars.
(Side note: I'd really love to see a JLS space combat server of just spacezones(no need for planets), where you could log in, select a character of yours from an existing normal server, and load in and get into combat with pilots from other servers. No loot and no items would be brought back - just your character and selected ship as it is at the moment you go to log in.)

Sad thing is, there already was a space slug modeled out for JtL, but it never made it in for some reason. Ran out of time or didn't have the tools to finish, or something. I've seen the model for it... it was awsome.
More space is what I need to continue with this game.
Bigger space zones.
More space zones.
More mission variety.
Boarding actions, disable, dock with ship steal cargo, steal ship even and sell to junk dude. Crickey the opening scene in the SW film 1 was a the SD disabling a vette. COME ON BRING IT ON.
Proper SW privateer ships, instead of the poygon gluts we have now. And why are they so flaming big compared to IMp/REb ships?
Space stations to own, asteroid miners.
ANd lose those stupid frame killing nebula, cause they do not exist in local space zones, not that SW has any SciFi content per say but this eye candy is a load of poop.

Maybe not a whole space station, but some of those asteroids are about the size of a guildhall or three...
