well i think most ppl make the mistake of eating and drinking what they buy from bartenders right away at the bar. most foods' effects will last from a minute or so to several minutes. food is at its best when you consume it just before you need to take on a tough mob or wanna get some extra surveys in, or if you plan on doing a dance/music marathon. remember that food will add to your stats (i hear better ones actually heal?) and that you actually have to regenerate the added stats, so take that into account when consuming food. also you have a "fullness" effect for both food and drink, so consuming it when you dont' need it will only keep from being able to eat when you actually need food. certain foods seem like they're better for certain classes. say for example caf. the ones i can craft are -16 to constitution for 240s, but adds 25 to action and quickness for 25 each for 240s, and adds also 59 to focus for 240s. seems it may be good for someone who is entertaining or surveying as those skills require the action and mind bars and do not require any health, so constitution, which dictates health regen, is pretty much useless to those professions. that's just one example. hope that helps.

Food is little understood and may very well be overpowered. Especially those foods that buf the non-HAM stats.

(The HAM bar stats are Health, Action, Mind -- the non-HAM are all others)

Exo-protien wafers and K-18 rations, for example, buf both constitution AND willpower. The buf lasts for almost three minutes in the case of the wafers and over three minutes for the rations.

I am an artisan/brawler and always have one of the two items before I fight. I handle more creatures and a time and I can handle harder creatures.

What happens is you can pump your regeneration up that you pratically regenerate fully between your opponents hits.

Other foods buf things like quickness, strength, and focus which will greatly reduce special moves cost. That means you can use those moves more often.

With the right combination of food and drink, you can actually buff all six non-HAM stats - and become quite poweruful.

While the buf lasts, food far surpasses armor in its effectiveness for helping in a battle (especially for brawlers).

I'm trying to build a harvester. Wherever I try to build it (and I've wandered pretty **edit** far looking for a place) I get a message saying I can't build there, even out in the middle of nowhere. The help doesn't say anything about it, the book that comes with the game doesn't say anything about it. Some other player said I should just wander out farther, so I spent the next hour heading away from the city, trying to build something every five minutes or so. No luck. Can someone PLEASE help me out here?! How do I know where I'll be able to build, or at least what to look for generally?! I don't really relish the thought of spending hours on end just trying to find a place I can build on.

I believe the distance for a city must be at least 1000 meters. It's changed since beta (2000m), so I'm not exactly sure what the distance is.

But you appear to know this already. You can be sure that the area is "buildable" if you see other player-made structures nearby. Other than that, I don't know that there is a way to tell if the area is buildable or not unless you try it.

One last thing. I've found that sometimes double-clicking on the deed does not work (and produces the you cannot build here), whereas using the radial menu to Use Deed pops up the isometric view and you can select a spot to build.

Hi everyone 2quick questions, I have a friend that is a novice droid engineer and he built me 3 mouse droids but when i try to put something inside, it says you do not have permission to access this container. Also does anyone know the command to group mouse droids and when you do should they show up on screen just as regular players do?

Thanks everyone

Personally, I consider it an exploit because you're not really using the droid in a "group" fashion. It doesn't do anything except take up space. You're just using it to build exp.

Go buy a droid and program it with a "Group" function and have it group with you. Put it in your inventory or you might have to leave it out but have it do nothing. You get more experience when grouped.
