The economy in this game makes me sick...
A few mill for a ship is an outrage as well as the amount of resources it takes.

I can't agree more to almost every thing you guyssayed, the amount of resources is nuts and mor enuts about it is that you need a special resources not just any but a special and that is almost every starship component that needs that, and second if the price goes up then i go down i won't be able to survive out there if i can't build a good enough spaceship because i need thousands of resources and when i'm already don't have over 30K so if it possible then it would be a good idea (not only for my requests by also for noobs) to do so you just need a resources and not a special resource.
P.S. sorry if you got scared i just got angry so not i need to buy a new keybord.

"15000? We could almost buy our own shop for that!"
I think I wish I was in the real Star Wars universe, where YT-1300's cost 20K, lol

then you would only get 100 credits per mission and swoops would cost 3000 at max.

In Beta, basic tier 1 Chassis cost a few thousand in steel, ore aluminum etc, +15000 in cash for a chassis.
Fully equipped I'd expect the tier 1 ships (Z-95, Scyk, TIE-Light) would cost between 50,000-100,000 credits.
But you do have a free ship that will fly and shoot, and get you through the Tier 1 missions, you will just need to buy a ship before going onto Tier 2 missions.
The upper level ships will cost as much as 5 million credits for rare things like the KSE Firespray, or 1-2 million for B-Wing Oppressers and such.
But I have no idea how the economy will pan out over time and balance prices
But expect Steel to become VERY expensive in a few days, if it hasn't already. As well as good copper and aluminum, and high quality Ore and Radioactive.
The demand for this will skyrocket, raising prices for all professions.
!! hmmmm no .. Tie Lightduty's or Player made startrs will prolly range from 20-30k NOT 50k-100k. Maybe the first week or too ppl will jack up the prices like that, however, for like Decimators and crap tthat will definitly soar up .. and ive saved 3 mil for that so far.
I knew Ships would be expensive.. and if your poor, i guess you could use your starter ship, but the starter shuip is a piece of crap =/ Start Saving in the ground game , cuz you arent gonna be sucessful with only 10k in your pocket.

Or do as i'm doing and just become a shipwright and make your own ships and don't be subject to the price gouging of other shipwrights. I unlike other people will try my best to sell inexpensive chasses. But one has to understand the sheer amount of resources that goes into building a ship. That's why i'm also saving up to get harvies en masse. So i don't have to rely on dealers.

I guess 1 million + just for a mid-range chasis, not includingthe chasis dealer fees.

Starships take A LOT of resources to build (including all components) for example 60k for TIE Interceptor Chassis only.
And to build good ships you need good resources (not like Houses where quality doesn't matter). Prices of 3-5 cpu would be low for ships if you take both facts in account. Cheaper selling will not cover resource and time requirements for a shipwright, as you should also remember, that Chassis and Components can't be made in a factory. It takes 15-30 minutes to make a ship including all components, how much money can a combat profession make in this time on Dantooine ?
Lower Level ships will allways be cheaper and also ships made from crap resources. There also may be some Shipwrights that will let you pay partially in resources for ships, so I think all players will eventually be able to get some ships.
