Thread: Freelance Pilot: Teir 4 Mission 3; Capture Valarian Mining Freighter

Hello,
I have failed this mission five times in the last three days. On each occasion, while in the "escort" phase of the mission after capture, I recieve following message:
"You took to long to complete the mission. A critical target has left the system! Mission Failed: < Endor System: Capture theValarianMining Freighter>"
At first I thought that perhaps I had gotten too far away from the freighter while fighting the attacking Valarian fighters. However the last time I was only 434 meters from the freighter when it bugged out. It would seem that I am missing something.
Any suggestions?

No the missions bugged so stop buggin. Its bugged for me too. I came here to post this same problem, we can't pass our mission cause the frickinPOS is bugged.
I did diable the freighter, like 4 times now, inspected it, TRIED to/dock everytime, said denies my request (and yes this is the valarian freighter i disabled)and it says, "capturing operations complete" I even tried to shoot it again, and it beeps and does no damage. I go through about 6 waves up tier 4 bombers, every few waves i shoot the freighter, inspect and /dock all over again, after every wave..

So yea. Please look into fixing our mission sometime...

That's right. This one you don't dock with to capture. But, it is important to note: You have to destroy all baddies before the next wave spawns, or you will fail the mission.

hi . i was helping a friend with this very mission.....and it failed even AFTER we killed all escorts b45 next wave gets there.......and btw i did it twice with same outcome....we kill all , freighter jumps and owner fails mission......pls help

I am having the same problems with Black Epsilon Tier 4 exit quest. Tiggs has placeda Focus thread on the Pilot forums, if you post there, the problem can be pinppointed quicker, thus resolved MUCH sooner.

Did you disable and dock with the freighter first to "capture" it?

You have to completely ignore the fighters until you've knocked the engines out of the freighter, further I still can't stress this enough: Disable the fighters rather than kill them.

Yea my imp friend had the same bug in one of his missions, you escort a freighter for 45 minutes, and then it just jumps all laggy warp style, and then mission failed. But I asked him tonight "how'd you pass your traditionally bugged mission," and he said that sometimes it wasnt bugged. Idk.. Wt-f.
I grind SW to mod a ship, to fail a mission, to grind SW again, to mod a better ship, and to still fail the mission due to a bug.My ixeyen is maxed out, I'm not trying to toot my horn, but I'm tearing thru tier 4 and 5 bombers like nothing. It would be very nice to feel like I'madvancing or getting somewhere new once again.
I was about to level chasis in Tier 4 for SW, but now whats the point when I cant even get 4-444 for pilot? I'm jonsing so bad to begin modifying a YT1300, or anything new,but I guess I have to get my fix on someone elses MPS.
Please if you're having this problem with the mission, keep bumping this.

Hello again,
Thank you ViperOSU for the link to Tiggs post. I have added my problem to Tiggs list.
As for the other suggestions, my normal proceedure for a mission such as this one is to disable the attackers. It has failed each time. This morning I have tried the total destroy and it produced the same result.
This morning I also tried the disable and captureof the freighter prior to taking on the escorts.This missionended with the same result... the mission time ran out.
I have also tried, after capturing the freighter, doing nothing... just following at a distance of about 200 meters. I figured for certain, at one point with 15 attacking fighters, that they would destroy the freighter. However mission time ran out again.
This time, for no other reason than I want to, I'm going to destroy the freighter rather than capture it. A bit sadist perhaps but I am hoping it will be gratifing non-the-less.

I have been having the same problem and it's very irritating. It almost seems like the system forgets the freighter has been captured so it gives a failure messageinstead of a success mesage when the freighter finally jumps. To make matters worse, I really hate escort missions - I spend one minute taking out the wave and the next four creeping along side the freighters at 10% of max speed waiting for the next wave.Having to do it over and over and over just because of bugs is the epitome of tediousness...

same problem, same mission....and i dont wanna hear anything about kill before next wave lol. i kill them all before they get in past me lol. dont even HAVE to leave the freighter....ive went through 3 different squadrons without bugs like this...now, on my fourth, im stuck.

Hey guys, good news. We got 3 new race tracks on Lok as of yesterday, so now we can just get over our mission be bugged and be able to advance. I raced all nighht long and the feeling of being on that POS lag wagon was like total freedom. I don't even care about mastering pilot or advancing at all, I just race religiously all day and all night, I wore out the 3 Landspeeders in my datapad just racing away. When one would break down I'd call the next one out.
D00d!!! the race tacks are so awesome!! Fuk passing my mission or even getting up to use the bathroom, this racing bullsht rox!!!!!
Next update I hear rumorthey'll be implementing the Galactic Gey Parade.
