just wondering cause i am having a really hard time getting through them solo. i coasted through all the others with out even getting my armor broken through on tier 1-3. but being so massivly outnumbered is being quite a problem. especially since they are ally tier-4 ships. and not to mention every where i go tier-4 and 5 oppressors and aggressors spawn right near my misson.

You might try not ejecting and let yourself get destroyed... after you repair your ship at the station, sometimes the mission continues as you go after a secondary target and while not 100% easier it can be done... after you take out the secondary target you colplete your mission and you can learn your next box.

I'm sure some people will tell you they are able to solo these missions, However the only lvl 4 mission i have been able to do by myself was the first one. After that it became a nightmare. I'm in the Crimson Phoenix squadron workiing out of Roi right now at lvl 4/4/4/3, The second mission so far was the absolute worst. The mission ties were fine but they do spawn very close to an NPC Oppressor spawn. I brough 2 friends (1 a Private Pilot, the other a Rebel) We managed to gert it done. As for third mission which we did last night, we had to go kill 9 lvl 4 Ties / Advance / Interceptors. With the new AI it's a huge pain there where 2 of us, my Private Pilot budy died, I was down to no front armor but stayed alive while he repaired and came back. After that we had to go destroy a shuttle, I let him takle lead and b4 I enguaged he used his master Privateer trick to kill the ties, after that the shuttle died quick.

Couple things I've done since the AI change to help are as follows,

Switch back to X Wing if your using an A Wing. The A wing was my favorate ship for missions till the last patch, now with jousting Ties, and ones coming up behind the A Wing just didn't have the firepower to kill quick enough when being in a dog fight with 9 ships. I outfitted my X Wing with 1800 shields, 1 Ion Canon (1300-2400dmg, .724 against Shields), 1 Disruptor (1500-2800dmg, .7 against Armor) , 1 Blaster (1300-2300dmg, .5 against Armor, .5 against Shields), and lastly a Proton 3 launcher to hit them in the tail when they run. With this set up Regular Ties with no shields are usually down to 30% armor on the first joust pass, then it's just mop up time, Ties with shields get shot down to 50% shields on their first run. I usually Disable the Shielded ones so I don't have to chase them all over the place and try and plink at shields. Hope this helps and if you on Ahazi and need help give Feeleuc a /tell, I can help ya as well as my guild mates (They are always ready for a fight) if ya need it.

I did the Tier 4 missions without too much difficulty. Missoin 4.1 was overwelming. Having to take on over 12 Black Sun Tier 4 ships was tough, and I think I walk away from that one with almost no armor left, but did succeed. Mission 4.2 was cake.

Mission 4.3 was tough. I had to call in some friends as taking on 12 TIEs and a gunboat can be quite tough. Thankfully the AI was dumb. I built myself a Ywing LP and loaded up on armor and shields (2400 f/b level 8 shields). When I went into battle, all 12 TIEs went after me while the gunboat was on the Z95s helping me out. I was taking a beating while all my friends were not being hit at all and pecking off the ships one by one. I used emergency shields whenever I could as it boosts the shield regen rate at least 10 times so I was taking no damage. Eventually we took out all the TIEs and won the mission.

So Rebels don't hit the brick wall until tier 4? Although I think Vortex is the hardest.

Maybe it is because you have superior ships but Imps have one hell of a time soloing tier 3 lol. I have read about a few that managed it but it is rare.

I honestly don't feel that the factions in space are balanced properly as of yet. Yes our TIE's are fast and nimble but the Rebel ships have great mass. I feel that the Imp ships should get a slight increase in mass in their lower level ships (TIE/In and Interceptor).

Anyway, thats a different discussion, sorry for the hijack lol.

I've hit the wall at 4.1 and I'm now waiting on my friends to catch up before I can proceed. Part of my problem is that the majority of shipwrights I can find on Bria (on Corellia) have either crap for parts -- which is usually the case -- or way overpriced for an item which is okay to use (until a better looted item comes along).

I should get off Corellia and scrounge around Naboo and Tatooine for parts... I just worry I won't find anything worth while... though I guess if I don't go, I definately won't find anything.

Anyway so I am back to FS grinding until I can get some help myself.

Oh yeah and for those who think Rebel Tier 3 is easy,I was able to finish Tier 3 on my own, but it wasn't easy for me. I had to try several times, changing up tactics as I went.

Quick question: How did you manage to power all that? I'm struggling to find (crafted or looted) a reactor > 13k that doesn't have a 50k mass.

Tier 4 is considerably harder now, and I am eating some serious crow in Rori trying to hack through the missions. Though the first "brick wall" I hit was Tier 3 Mission 1 (the rest of Tier 3 was easier by far). I'm getting just plain overwhelmed. The fact that 4.1 starts with some TIE Aggressors does not help at all. I think it's time to invest in some more serious Proton Torpedo action.

Up until the last patch, yes, with some difficulty. Currently, i don't think so, although i have tried.

Yes, I could squeak by a couple (Vortex squadron with some very nice components on my X-wing), but the last patch just makes the targeted ship burst out of range while the others pound on you. Turn around and attack another, it runs away, repeat, DIE.

I actually have no problem with the tier 4 Black Suns and almost farm them on a regular basis. The longer you do it, the more show up each wave and the more cash you get. I just keep going until I have to do something or theirs too many which usually ends up being about 2 hours give or take. Not to mention they can drop some nice stuff too.
