Thread: 11.2 Mass changes make my 1 Million credit fighter useless

Well I think the new mass changes are great and help to balance out some of the fighters...but here is my problem. About a day before they made the changes for 11.2 public, I spent over 1 Million credits on my TIE Opressor. Now the mass has gone up over 20k, which would allow me to fit 3 space bomb launchers and a countermeasure system in my fighter. Boy would that make it one mean killing machine. But I can't, because the already made fighters didn't get the mass bump. I will be useless in PvP and PvE compared to my peers that are just making master.

1 Million credits in not an investment I can afford to make again! Can we get a retroactive mass boost please?

This is an MMO things change all the time. Republic blasters were changed, harvestors changed twice, food changes and so on. There is no trade in policy on most things.

Bottom line, aint gonna happen.. SOE never does and complaining doesnt help. You should really read the forums daily to keep up with these updates. Maybe the shipwright will give you an exchange, I have found many that are willing to do that..

They changed the CL on pets a long time ago (for balancing reasons) and they gave us those trainers that could change the CL on our favorite pet, so we could still use it... Don't see why they couldn't do this with our favorite ships!!!

I know you said most things... but a ship is a pretty hefty investment to just gaff off like this. Think it's a bad move on the dev's part not to have a trade in program.

You just bought a new computer. Next week, a newer computer will be released. No matter how much you spent on the first one, or how badly you want the new one, no one is going to give it to you.

Just because things work that way now doesn't necessarily make it RIGHT. A trade-in policy on *some* of these significant changes might not be so bad.. like the pet trade-in thing.

real life works differently than games there bud. SOE wants us to have fun good experience to keep and gain customers, doing stuff like this just pisses ppl off. its not like they lose money for upping the mass of our current ship by 20k or whatever the increase is. its bad enough ppl have to buy a new ship to get the increased mass but they go and nerf solo groups which we need to make money to buy the damn thing lol. (if the solo group nerf didnt go in i wouldnt know, im at work and going by what i read a few days ago)

The problem with your flimsy argument is that a PC is a physical object in the REAL WORLD.. not bytes of information stored on a hard drive owned by SOE, used to form a virtual world that can be altered at will by said company. Doesn't *need* to function quite the same way as reality. If SOE wanted, for example, to allow us to trade in our swoop bikes for large purple (virtual) '75 Cadillacs with big pink fuzzy dice on the mirrors, they have the ability to make such a thing happen. (I would vomit if they did something like that, but still..)

Did your harvestor cost you 1 Million credits? Or your crate of food? When all this stuff changed I too said oh well and adjusted to the times. But this is no small investment. I really feel bad for the people that bought Firesprays before the change.

I have supported JTL so much even when people have put it down, and I was really looking forward to some twitched based PvP. But now I'm destined to be gimped just because I'm a casual player that doesn't have dozens of Millions of credits to spend willy nilly. Seriously, what kind of reward is this for actually enjoying the game and mastering the profession quickly?

I'm not asking for some sort of advantage, I'm just asking to be equal.

The other issue with this is that the freaking JTL just came out. This isn't a nerf that happened to a ship that someone's been flying for a year, the freakin ship hasn't even reached its burn-in period and its a lemon. Where's the 90-day warranty on the thing.

Dev's rule... in the madness of their ivory tower mentality.

Title: "11.2 Mass changes make my 1 Million credit fighter useless"

You mean you can't load anything on it? can't fly?

Ever heard of selling it at a discounted price to buy a new one, or just using a bit less and flying better...?
