Your right nowhere did it say that the pre-order deadline for gamestop was OCT 14th!!!! I'm livid about this I also paid the next day shipping and am still quite livid about not getting a speeder. I was in beta, and have been playing SWG since release I paid for freakin pre-order so why dont i get a speeder?? Dev's need to take notice of this and help us out, it just isnt right.

I pre-ordered JTL from Gamestop.com on October 20, 2004 directly from the "PreOrder Bonus Offer" link on the main page of these boards. When my copy arrived on October 27, 2004 (with next day delivery for $10 more) it did not have any Pre-order bonus CD Key. I promptly calledGamestop .com's customer service line where I was told that they (Gamestop.com) had a deadline of October 14, 2004 for giving out CD keys.

Nowhere did they inform you that after a certain arbitrary date you would not receive a CD key even though I had still ordered the game more than a week before release. They still continued to use the direct link from the actual "Pre-order CD key offer" on the SOE website and still called their product a "Pre-order." Basically,Gamestop.com told me that it wasn't their problem that SOE had the Gamestop.comcompany link in their offer and they were not going to honorthe pre-order bonus offer.

**This is a warning to all people that consider using Gamestop.com to order anything in the future. They engage in fraudulent business practices and they misrepresent what they market to their customers.

I feel cheated by what they have done and I will never do business with them again. I ordered one thing and got something completely different and I paid an additional $10 for nothing. I could have picked up a retail copy (what I received anyway) on my way home and saved $10.

I would like to thank Gamestop.com for ruining the first day of my JTL experience by not following through with what they promised to people that pre-ordered JTL from them.

Gamestop.com is a fraud - Do Not Use Them

**Update 11/02/04 - I just wanted to say that Gamestop finally stepped up to the plate and sent me a pre-order key code via e-mail.While I was initially very displeased with their total lack of customer service, I now have to give them credit for correcting their mistake and addressing this issue in a professional manner. Thank you Gamestop.

check in the states regarding your laws with credit cards. i would chase it up with them and take em to court (small claims one) and get your money back...

but check up on it

To win in PVP one must cheat, exploitz, hackz, and above all, have other pals that do the same. Once the foe is defeated, then go "OMGZZZ UZZZ SUCZ, LERN TO PLAY"

And so forth!

This is a good point - but you'll have to do some research, and if you do it right, you can even avoid court.

You'll have to make sure that your actual order contained an entry for the pre-order key (since you can't get the link back... if you can get to the EXACT page you ordered from then you can use that as well) - If it did, call your credit card company and ask them about filing a fraud report. It is possible that you're just SOL, but then again it's possible you're not.

It's called "While Supplies Last" and it was posted on their site. Next time read the fine print.

P.S. Check with your local GameStop store or EB store, if you have one close to you, they may have extra copies of the beta CD, which is the key you need to get your Flash Speeder. And no, they shouldn't charge your for it.

20th of October was pretty late. I ordered mine back in May, my copy has now shipped along with the bonus CD.

Sorry you didn't get yours in time.

They neglected to post that fine print on the order page which is why I am not happy with them. They just allow you you purchase with no explanation about any restrictions. Anyway, their answer was that they had their own arbitrary deadline not that supplies ran out.

Next time read the original post before trying to flame.

The fine print did not say while supplies last, it said for a limited time.

EB Games did much the same thing to me. I pre-ordered the game in-store thinking that whatever I needed for the pre-order bonus would arrive with the product itself (much like the poster I got for pre-ordering the DVD boxset from FYE), but only two weeks later when I pick up my order and bring both copies of the expansion home and install them and I find that I can't get my speeder do I discover that I was supposed to get a pre-order box at the time I placed the order. They had apparently sold out, but neglected to tell me because it would jeapordize their sale. SOE should think about making the FlashSpeeder deed a veteran reward, similar to the Sorosuub Luxury Yacht.

First off, Im not flaming anyone here or even remotely attempting to flame anyone. Just so sick of seeing posts like this when there is fine print to be read. I know it sucks & it's ashame that he didn't get his flash speeder. But as I put in my previous post, check with the local GameStop store or EB game store & see if they have extra copies of the beta cd.

Second off "while supplies last" & "limited time" pretty much the same meaning in my book. Means order early in either case.

It's called "Bait & Switch" and it's an old and shameful tactic.

Maybe you did not see in my initial post where I said the excuse that Gamestop.com gave me had nothing to do with "while supplies last" or "for a limited time only"but that they set an arbitrary deadlinewhere they "conveinently" left off any information about any deadlines on the order form. They even admitted that there was no such reference to the deadline and that it wasn't their problem. If the fine print actually informed me of their deadline I would not have pre-ordered at all. I would have bought a retail copy and not paid $10 extra for next day delivery of a retail copy which is what I received.
