Jump To Lightspeed Archive
Thread: Why YOU should WAIT a year to buy JTL. Search your feelings. You know it to be true...
- Hooded Robes (already available in the ground game)
- New Species (will be available in the ground game) The coolest stuff will be released to the ground game (the hooded robes and new species).
- The best "in space" feature of JTL is that you can ride around with friends on a ship. It's like being in a house with your friends. It's a great place to chat; however, that experience gets old after an hour.
- The art team needs kudos once again! The graphics are beautiful.
Jump to Lightspeed should have included (but, it does NOT include):
- A couple of new planets to explore and live-in exclusively for the JTL folks. I suggested Hoth and Bespin.
- Objects in space to explore with your ground characters and your friends, such as:
- Space stations (should look like the new user tutorial as far as textures and sky roofs, have space mission terminals, cantina, etc.)
- Imperial Star Destroyers, Large Rebel ships (owned and operated by Imperial & Rebel guilds)
- New dungeons (the remains of the Star Destroyer?, abandonded ships, asteroid dungeon, etc.) and maybe a hidden planet (moves around in space and has no POI).
Why ride around with your friends on a ship if you can't actually go anywhere new to explore with your ground characters (other than the same ground game planets)?
JTL is Wing Commander with Star Wars models.

I highly recommend waiting to buy Jump To Lightspeed. Perhaps in a year, SOE will have something to do in space other than hold down your mouse button.
I don't want to sound harsh... this expansion will be *very* awesome once it has several publishes under its belt.

just wondering, but were you in beta?
if not then shutup
with all due respect of course
Yes, I was in beta.

So then did the idea ever occur to you that MAYBE they will implement these ideas later with new patches? like how the ground game is?
Read more than the title of the post... you'd see that I said in a year, it'll be great.

in a year there will be another expansion in the works.
i highly doubt people will wait a year just so they cant compete with the veterans.

I remember TH saying that right now, JTL is just a space "frame" for them to work off of later.
JediGohan wrote:So then did the idea ever occur to you that MAYBE they will implement these ideas later with new patches? like how the ground game is?May not be immediately after the game releases but you know what? Some people need a little time to get used to the game in the first place. Expect something new at least a month after it releases.
And here we are. More than a year after the initial launch and there are still bugs that have not been fixed. One example is Heavy weapons tapes and attachments. But, that list goes on and on and on......... And this is with the ground game. Someones business model put the expansion above fixing the game that already exisited. I grow tired and weary of them saying that everything will be fixed or done after JTL launch. MAYBE they will implement expansions to the expansion. MAYBE they will fix the existing ground game. And MAYBE just MAYBE by then no one will be around to notice.
Ricin Olo (Master Commando)
nolan has a point here...think about the combat rebalance and gcw revamp...how long have we been waiting for it? The devs say "soon" but...when is soon?

Me too.... later may mean 3 months or it may mean 10 or 12 months.
