Thread: Why YOU should WAIT a year to buy JTL. Search your feelings. You know it to be true...

And here we are. More than a year after the initial launch and there are still bugs that have not been fixed. One example is Heavy weapons tapes and attachments. But, that list goes on and on and on......... And this is with the ground game.
Someones business model put the expansion above fixing the game that already exisited. I grow tired and weary of them saying that everything will be fixed or done after JTL launch.
MAYBE they will implement expansions to the expansion.
MAYBE they will fix the existing ground game. And MAYBE just MAYBE by then no one will be around to notice.

Well said Mystikal26!
The only reason I made posts (in the past) was to makethe game great or better.I'm not a fanboi. I just want the game to be great. Iwant the best for SWG (I'm sure we all do)... maybe it will come one day, and then again... maybe it won't.

Just a quick question, why do you bother to post this? You'll be gone in 2 days.
I answered why I post earlier in this thread.
Iflong standing issues and bugsare fixed, places are added to build community in space, combat revamphas occurred, and lots ofStar Warsy touches have been added... Imightreturn. However, if no one brings up these issues up now (such as in my original post)... the issueswill never be fixed.

I really am disappointed by the game as it stands. Yes, I was in beta. I only played for about 4 hrs total and very much disliked the gameplay of JTL to the point that it was just not fun. I normally don't post on these boards unless there is really something to say. But, I see all of these customers of SOE really looking forward to the expansion and I scratch my head. I wanted this to be the great add-on to the ground game that was going to make the game complete. The one I have been waiting for a year to play. It came up short on all of these things. So, I will pack up my $14.99 a month a leave for awhile. I look to the community for guidance at this point. Which other online game would you recommend? SWG was my first and I have grown attached to the idea of the MMORPG.

first... how can you say the game was horrible after 4 hours of playing? dunno... but in a beta i usually give the devs time to work things out and if after a few weeks its still pretty bad... then my opinion is fixed. Right now... well, they broke it with the AI... but a few days ago, beta was 100 times better than when i started a month or so ago. The game is worth purchasing in my mind and hopefully will be made to expand on... hopefully.
now if you truly do not like the future of SWG and JTL... and want another MMORPG... well, it depends on what you like. If you are into pvp but don't really care for a dynamic quest system nor about insane graphics... try WoW. Its basically a clone of the rest of the MMORPGs out there but they do have some highpoints. If you like PvE, questing, player housing, small group mentality and insane graphics... try EQ2, not to mention they get stuff like dragon and hippogriff mounts. If you really want to gamble on a game that may or may not tank depending on how they package it all... try MxO. If you want a current game that does well and is nice to look at... but lacks pvp but has the best character customization, try CoH. If you are a PvP fanatic and enjoy "ganking" "griefing" and causing massive mischief and mayhem and don't mind a broken game... try Lineage 2.

What's great in Jump to Lightspeed....
- Hooded Robes (already available in the ground game)
that is because half of the JTL code was pushed into LIVE
- New Species (will be available in the ground game) The coolest stuff will be released to the ground game (the hooded robes and new species).
Sure will be in game to see but to be one you have to get JTL
- The best "in space" feature of JTL is that you can ride around with friends on a ship. It's like being in a house with your friends. It's a great place to chat; however, that experience gets old after an hour.
- The art team needs kudos once again! The graphics are beautiful.
Jump to Lightspeed should have included (but, it does NOT include):
- A couple of new planets to explore and live-in exclusively for the JTL folks. I suggested Hoth and Bespin.
- Objects in space to explore with your ground characters and your friends, such as:
- Space stations (should look like the new user tutorial as far as textures and sky roofs, have space mission terminals, cantina, etc.)
- Imperial Star Destroyers, Large Rebel ships (owned and operated by Imperial & Rebel guilds)
- New dungeons (the remains of the Star Destroyer?, abandonded ships, asteroid dungeon, etc.) and maybe a hidden planet (moves around in space and has no POI).
Why ride around with your friends on a ship if you can't actually go anywhere new to explore with your ground characters (other than the same ground game planets)?
JTL is Wing Commander with Star Wars models.

I highly recommend waiting to buy Jump To Lightspeed. Perhaps in a year, SOE will have something to do in space other than hold down your mouse button.
I don't want to sound harsh... this expansion will be *very* awesome once it has several publishes under its belt.
