When I found out that Galaxies was releasing an update to allow us to exist in space, I was overjoyed. I think that there are very few things that define Star Wars so completely as the space situations that happen throught the entire saga. I got JTL, and for the period of about two weeks I did hardly anything but fly around...it then got boring.
There wasn't anything to do! The integeration with the ground game is horrible, there are not Star Destroyers or anything of that sort to interact with...Where is all the stuff that makes Star Wars so great? Plus, the GUI is somewhat qwerky.
When my brother and I are grouped and flying, if he flies so far away, I can't detect him. That's great for the ground game, but last time I checked ships have sensors that allow them to detect obsticles more than just 2 klicks away. The map is also confusing, what do you get for the POI in space, and why don't you get a badge for it?
I just feel that there are things that can make this aspect of the game better. Allow Weaponsmiths and Armorsmiths build weapons and armor for ships. Have boarding missions where ships must dock with an NPC station and destory the NPC's inside...much like the Corvette. Allow docking with capital ships, and be able to board the Space stations where missions, vendors, and player quarters can be housed...Heck, even let Guilds created Guild stations in space...the possibilities are limited, but I haven't seen any usefull updates to the system since the first few weeks of tweeking.
Any thoughts?

they just added 40 space missions to the game. They are also constantly fixing bugs for JTL. What more do you want?

content, new ships, a reason to pvp in space, bounty missions in space, some ship changes (ex: firespray has 3 visible engines in the movies yet only 2 are lit up in this game, and the wings folding when braking or turning)

I'm for the most part satisifed. There's always room for improvement, that's true with anything. But I can live with JTL as it is; any additions or changes will just make it better for me.

Deep space.
ISD doesnt exist elsewhere because its too big. Dev's said as much in a dev chat awhile ago. Most normal sectors can't adequately support something as big as an ISD.

Probably because its three dimensional. Study it more, you'll figure it out.
>>Allow Weaponsmiths and Armorsmiths build weapons and armor for ships.
Ah, then why have shipwrights? These products are the field of the Shipwright, and they can buld armor and weapons for ships.
>> Is anyone Disheartend by the lack of attention to JTL?
Overall, no. Because:
1.) JTL, like it or not, is an expanstion, its not a standalone game (as much as some of us would like it to be, myself included)
2.) The long overdue combat upgrade has priority, and i think many of us realize this. After all, its the borked ground game that probably made some of us full time pilots. Which is at least partially true for myself. Hardcore space players are a minority audience in teh game, so ya, we're going to take a back seat when SOE has bigger fish to fry. I realize this, so im not disappionted.
What helps with JTL fun, is a guild where many of the members are into flying.

I am, just a tad bit, because TH himself said that no resources would be split up to make JTL- it would have it's own resources, so im kind of interested to know where they went.

It is well known that dev resources WERE diverted for JTL. In fact it was admitted by SOE. That is why there was such an outrage when CURB got pushed back for JTL. The argument was we are paying for the development of JTL with our monthly fees since the ground game development was halted...then we had to pay $40 for the expansion.

We want content not more missions added every other week.I mean that is corny to just keep adding 20 missions at a time.Give us somthing more. Why are they even secretly working on another exp when they have not pushed this to even close to the potential? We just want more content is all, even though jtl is great and i have a ton of fun with it.So after cu maybe we will get more stuff.

Umm content IS those missions. Some of them are a lot of fun. First cluster of missions was for tier 1-2, the latest was for 3-4. The next...? The expansion was the groundwork, these missions are the basics for an ever growing system of things to do for ALL levels of pilot, and in time, when the Dev team has finished fixing the core ground game, there will be big ground/space content additions.
They've consistently been adding content, fixing bugs and addressing issues since JtL launched. I see no lack of attention here. Just because there haven't been a few major additions that you guys hope to see does not constitute neglect, especially when the ground game is undergoing a major overhaul at the same time.
PS option 2 on the radial for any POI is "Autopilot to" works like a charm for finding stuff. They don't give badges for it because you don't have to do anything to earn it. Location badges are a weak holdover from the days when there were no vehicles and POI tabs in the datapad, and it took actual work to get to these places.

I do wish the Devs would give JtL a little more attention and give it some more content. There's literally nothing to do. I've aced three times, I've done allthe space station missions and all the other missions I can do. I've been through every system, visited every POI. There's nothing left to do.

Well said. JTL is approaching it's 5 month anniversary and there is still no master content. I love this game and want it to get a lot more attention. It's unfair to say that JTL players are a minority because after a certain point there is little reason to go into space. Make deep space worth fighting for and fix wo3.

There's plenty to do... you just sometimes have to make your own content... as it was said above, it helps when you're in a guild that likes JTL...

My guild is multi-factioned (and most of the pilots are Imperials), so we really can't do space missions together or anything like that. We can't even attack the Corvette as a group.
