The devs mentioned that you can use faction points in the new expansion.
For what?
Does anyone know how this will work?
Thanks

Even if someone knows he or she would not be allowed to tell because of the Non-Disclosure Agreement they have signed. Sorry, but you gotta wait.

On the ground I'm a master doctor, working on master shipwright. This leaves me very little in the way of combat skills, and thus faction points - despite the fact I'm buffing Imperial troops and crafting Imperial weapons. I've also destroyed countless Rebel and Pirate starfighters, yet my rank (or faction points) have not climbed at all. Getting rank in the Imperial forces is extremely hard in this current system, even to usMasterImperial Pilots.
Any word on when destroying Rebel ships will yield faction points?
Does space PvP give faction points?

I'm bumping this old thread because I want to know the answer as well. Does anybody know how to check how many space faction points you have? I am assuming the points listed under <control>-C are for the ground game only, and I can't find any menu option to check space faction points.

When I started JTL I had around 1200 Imp faction points. I'm Imp 3222 now and when I checked on the ground last night I had a little over 1800 FPs w/o doing any faction missions on the ground since starting JTL (that's because I'm almost never on the ground anymore). So they do add up for doing the space missions.

I wondered the same thing.
See, a couple days ago, I decided to level up 1111 Rebel Pilot. Well, I camped a duty area and ended up killing somewhere in the area of 500 TIEs before landing and training. Needless to say, two things bothered me about that: number one, I didn't receive any 'props' from the Rebels for single-handedly whomping on several squadrons and two, the Empire didn't seem to mind! Seriously, after, say, 50 of your ships go down, wouldn't you send a really powerful one to check it out?

Bump!
... even if I'm a rebel I have more or less the same problem.
Any chance of converting some of my 4.856.380 Rebel prestige points in some good FP?

Well ummm, have you tried declaring at a faction space station??? I have earned well over 20,000 FP in space (any sector) after declaring at a faction station.

You ONLY get faction points in space by overting and destroying rival faction NPCs.
You overt at factional starbases - it opens you to attack from other overts, but if you're proactive, you can cap your pool in 2-3 days.
