Thread: Is this correct?

According to www.swgcreatures.com, there is only FIVE tamable creatures above level 50? And all five of them are rare?

I made MCH about two weeks ago and it is quickly becoming boring. I don't know what I expected, but I thought there would be more than this.

I was going back to last month and reading some of TH's comments and I find the whole future of this profession bleak. They lower the stats on every wild creature in the game, let the BE's make pets that are far superior to them, leave the mounts with no new features to compete with vehicles, and then tell us that selling creatures on the bazaar (or any other useful method) might happen in the distant future if it happens at all! Doesn't sound like the devs want to give us any love.

Maybe it's just me, but what is the point of this profession anymore? You can't make money from your creatures, and their usefulness in combat has been diminished. I love taming creatures, but IHATE destroying the few that I currently have to make room for new ones.

On another note, I just deleted a Rancor to make room for a Boar Wolf Ravager. Suddenly two of these small creatures is worth more in combat than the supposedly awe inspiring Rancor. I find that sad.

Anyway, sorry for the rant, but I had to let off some steam. Hunting for rares is getting so tedious there is no fun in it anymore. I vote Tivo for president!

PS . The comments from THI were referring to were posted in "Creature Handler Top Five - Developer Responses - 12/18" sticked at the top of this forum.

What are the 5? I am only CL 40, but the 2 that I know abut I wouldn't want anyway. The Bull rancor... hits pretty good but the kinetic is low and the razor cat from Corellia.. same thing.

I found a Blurrg baby yesterday, never seen one before, but those have low kinetic also. Since they do not cover the kinetic, they should have one that can be useful in PvP. Bull Rancor comes close, but I saw a TKA take one out in 10 seconds.

I heard though that some of the over powered professions are going to get nerfed next patch, namely tka.

So the devs are trying to keep the MCH's pure?

I don't see why the Death's Head is rarer than the TMB, the TMB has better stats

Seriously doubt that. At initiate your force regen is crap, you have a low force pool and your specials take a big chunk of your energy.

"To have the strongest combat droid, six 100% combat modules must be used in constructing a droid."

Now they have already set the CL at 10 max for a combat droid. Six modules to make a CL 10 combat droid? What happens if I use only one combat module? The thing gets dismantled by a baby kreetle? What is the point of requiring 6 stacked modules for a combat droid that will get trashed in 10 minutes. If you are going to forge ahead anyway with an idea that most DEs have spoken out against(combat modules as opposed to actual combat models) why make it needlessly complex? It has already been proven that there is no market out there for a CL 10 combat droid(probot), do they honestly think that there is a market out there for a combat droid that would be made with less than 6 modules? I just don't understand the thinking with this Dev crew.

Well, this was TH stating how things are going to work afterall. He is the one and same that said our "clear domed R2 was really cool".

My guess is that the combat modules are going to be just like all the rest of our modules, lvl 1 to lvl 6 and are effected by experimentation to make them better. I think he just phrased it incorrectly.

If it was a 6 slot deal, the best and mightiest of all our droids would the R3 with 6 combat modules installed, and that just can't be right (please make that not right).

1. "Combat Droids will have all the fighting functionality of a regular combat-capable creature (CL10)"

2. "Combat modules stack and if more than one of them is placed in a single droid, they have a cumulative effect."

3. "To have the strongest combat droid, six 100% combat modules must be used in constructing a droid"

Lets examine this:

#1 says that a "combat droid" will etc etc. A combat droid is defined as any droid that has a combat module in it, which in turn means that any droid with a general socket module cluster (whatever) has the potential to be a combat droid.

#2 says that the modules stack but they don't say this raises their CL above 10, only that they're cumunlative. So, it could very well mean that all the droids we have now that have clusters will always be CL10 and that the vaporware promised additions will be >CL10.

#3 again states that combat ability will increase with more combat modules, but it doesn't state that the maximum will be = CL10, that the most effective combat droid will be uncontrollable by most.

The preview is phrased in such a way so that the devs don't break any "promises" and that they have room to maneuver should something go horribly wrong. That's why it's vague as to the intricacies. We'll just have to see what they've cooked up for us when it comes out.

One other thing to remember... elsewhere TH also said that not all droids will be combat capable. So there's more to it than just putting a combat module into a general module slot... the droid must also be authorized to carry a combat module, and THEN you can put it into a general module slot.
