Thread: Can we have the gunships as flyable?

If they put in more MP ships, I think the rebel and imp gunships would fit in nicely


They arnt to big, and they would be lots of fun (as long as they are as strong as NPC ones and kept around the same speeds). Plus they look great

as far as we don't get petitions to fly em alone, I'd LOVE to see gunboats flyable, and why not, within another expansion, boardable space stations and flyable star destroyers (wich would require group system revamp)

Why in another expansion? I think we paid enough for this one with its sparce content already


I dont think ownable stardestroyers will ever happen though, since they are so big and you would need a group well over 100 strong to crew one. Corvettes could happen though

definitely. but i think the imps need the lambda. only 1 rear turret, but still, it would make a kickass 5 person ship or something. gunships have what? 6 turrets?

Flyable gunboats and landable ISDs would be great. Don't know about flyable ISDs though, I mean do I need a group of a few thousand players to be able to operate it?

It's been said that player-flyable Star Destroyers would take far more computing power than is available right now.

Gunships might be doable, but they're still a class of capital ship.

Here's my idea. Why not have the big ships in space be like a Guild hall. Were its floating in a certain area. Guild members can dock the ship and walk around. If needed to be moved the leader of the guild be the only one that can. I think this would be a awsome idea. What you guys think??

I think the problem is they dont have the server power to keep track of people walking around something that size like they do in current MP ships,I think the best we can hope for as space PA halls are small stations, like some of the un-marked ones you see near some spawn points. Those and gunships I think would be manageable

Not a bad idea. But are they attackable? If so, what will happen if I'm on board the ship when it blows up? Also, I thinkguild memeberson the admin list of the ship should be able to operate it, but you shouldn't be able to actually fly itother than jumping from system to system or to a different quadrant.

Another idea if they did what i suggested is to have certain areas that only a guild ship can travel to. If they made the ship attackable, then if it was destroyd you could simply just make it disabled. Then you would have to have certain people repair the ship. Like have a engineer to repair the engine and someone to repair the shields etc.

They should have corvettes for guilds, they already made the inside. But it shouldnt fly like a normal ship, should require a crew and only fly off waypoints
