Ok, so I bought a Y-wing chassis and upgraded it with all level 1 parts. Engines, reactor, weapons...etc. I'm doing a patrol mission and when I shoot at my targets I am doing no damage to them. And they were my targets as they had those ornage brasktes and I wasn't getting a "beep" sound. I was able to damage them somewhat, but 90% of my hits passed right through them. Occasionally I was able to get a hit in.
This let to a 30 minute firefight that should have lasted 30 seconds. I was in beta so I know the basics.
Has anyone encountered this issue so far?

Something new to me I didn't experience in beta is when I shoot at ships I have to hit them almost directly in the back to do damage.

the stratagy is aiming wayyy infront of them, so when the bolt finely hits, it hits on their nose instead of their top

What I have always done is shoot at the targeting reticule that is given to me that projects their path. So that my shot "leads" into their ship. This works fine for dowing ships in my Z-95 as I swaped out all the components from the Y-wing and tried combat in the z-95. I wasn't having any problems.
Hmm, Im going to land, swap the components out (again) and put them back in the Y-wing and try again. If anyone is using a Y-wing and a light ion cannon as a weapon, please let me know if youve seen such issues.

Yeah, I've had that bug too already. LOL. But not now, right now I see my shots just fine, but do hardly any damage. It's seems a majority of my shots are going right through the targeted enemy. Even though it's my legitimate mission target.

Aim a little farther ahead of the green ret that shows up. Theres a bug that has to do with the player seeing the hit but the server not registering it or some crap like that. So you cause no damage if you hit top or bottom of the ship.

Hmm, I haven't experienced that yet. You are using a Ion cannon though which is highly effective against shields but very ineffective against everything else, maybe that's it? Basically, if your shipcan only equip one weapon and you're not always grouping with someone else, usinga Ion cannon may not be the best choice.

Swede, that very well may be what's wrong. But, if it were then it wouldn't make sense that when I equip my Z-95 with the same components (and the ion-cannon) that I'm able to get kills with it constantly. I was also able to get kills constantly when using that weapon in space. I'll try again though and post my results.

True and other people having it happen with other types of weapons too makes me agree that it's probably something else. I've flown through Tier 1 and some of Tier 2 the last couple of days without it happening in my TIE ships so not sure what the difference is between me and those of you that have the problem. I'll see what I can find out.

Where were you hitting them? Front/rear? Sides? Top/bottom?
Dunno if they ever completely fixed the issue where (moving) ships were completely invulnerable to damage when hitfrom other angles than front and rear...
