Ok devs, seriously

Fix the mass on imperial ships.


Tier 3 ships get maxed out with tier 2 equipment.


I've been bringing this subject up since beta, but apparently you are BLIND.


how is it that the tier one ships for all three sides are as follows on mass


imp 20,000

privateer 75,000

rebel 150,000



are you JOKING?


ok yeah, so TIE fighters are smaller than a Y-Wing... granted.

the fact is, lvl 8 engines weigh more than a TIE Interceptor.


So think about it. at master rebels are all going to be able to put all lvl 10 equipment in all of their ships AND outnumber imps.

Imps will be stuck with lvl 6ish equipment and be outnumbered to boot.

As in all things gaming........it takes TIME.


They know of this problem and are likely working on it. This is'nt the wendy's drive through were they are tossing out hot bugchicken fixes sandwhich's. It needs to have a rotisserie flavor =0


Give it time and that fix will be here soon.

Yeah, this is extremely lame.


Chassis differentiation was supposed to keep people from being forced to fly the master level ship (remember this coming up in beta?)... but now it really is forcing us to use the imp master ship because we can't fit anything in our lower ships.


I'm trying to do the Tier 3 Mission 1 and I keep getting owned because my Tie-In is so darn small I just can't fit any decent equipment in there.

See you dont know what you're talking about. This mass thing wasnt always the case in JTL beta, they CHANGED it to this. and left it that way for weeks.

and its looking like they're going to leave it that way.


If its a change they made, they can change it back. Its not that hard.


I'm all good with Y-Wings having 7.5 times the mass of a TIE Fighter... PROVIDED they go 7.5 times slower with the same engines.

The devs put convenient physics into JTL, and left out the parts that were inconvenient to rebels.

yep i noticed the tie's were sucky so im doing nutral pilot but then again you dont need the best parts i took out a teir 3 blacksun ship with the starter ship lol.

I do see your point, but you're making it from a solo-gamer's point of view. TIE ships are meant to be uber-lightweight and manouverable, except for the X1 and Bomber. They are meant to rely on superior numbers, speed and manouverability. It should be a case of Imperial Pilots massively outnumbering Rebel ones, but sadly, this is not the case.

Im a big advocate of balancing, but as I recall TIEs are not supposed to have shields or hyperdrives. The only ships that are supposed to have them areAdvanced and above. However, TIEs should be alot more maneuvrable than any rebel or freelance ship out there... Mass does have an impact on maneuvrability (putting my lvl5 engine in my X-Wing after having it in my Y-Wing and seeing a 33%+ speed/maneuvrability boost) but I somewhat fear that in PvE that advantage is somewhat lost, as higher lvl mobs (tier 3+) seem to have superb aim regardless of the evasives you might undertake.


Im not saying mass should stay the same or should be moved, just bringning in my bit of star wars trivia knowledge.

teir 3 is simple to out manuver in a basic ship took out a teir 3 with the starter ship with out it even breaking through my sheild think it only got 2 shots at me as i got its engin off before it had chance to get me back in target then just sat behind it and boom no fire taken 1400 ish xp and able to train my next pilot box lol.

I can easily take on a singly Tier 3/4 ship in just about any ship... the problem is when the mission pits you against 25 Tier 3 ships in your lousy Tier 2 ship.

see you point but it an achievent for me i spent more time in beta geting my ass kicked not beingable to do the missions now i can take down teir 3 ships and do the missions soim just like wth.

guys, this discussion has nothing to do with PVE balance. it has to do with PVP balance.

The reason why the mass thing was implemented in beta was because people (like me) were putting awesome equipment into their low level ships. People quickly learned to fear my uber Tie-Fighter.


There is nothing wrong with this inherently, but then a combination of things started happenning...


1. The SW die hards and rebs starting complaining that Tie-Fighters shouldn't have shields and be uber uber.


2. People were complaining that there was no point for higher ships.


3. People complained that there was no ship differentiation.


So to fix this, they put in the half-baked mass system. The mass system was supposed to make each and every ship different while, somehow, not forcing everyone to just move into the master level ship.


I don't know how it was supposed to accomplish the second part, but it obviously doesn't do this.


The part that does work is that every ship chassis does have different flight mods attached to it. This, at least, is good... but in the end we're all still required to fly the master ship because it's the only way to use that uber high end equipment.


As for now... I'll have to rename my Tie Fighter to "Mr. Pokey" because it's the slowest thing in the sector...

pvp will never be balanced think its based on skill and not level so technicaly some1 with good flight skill could easly take down a higher level ship that is being piloted badly.
