that's right.. just a huge asteroid belt to PVP in that anyone can go to since you took away kessel!!
that's all i want.. big asteroid belt where Alderaan used to be (occasional corpse floating in space and debris are optional)

I would agree with this. After all space is not so massive as most think. Its actually pretty small..And alderan is a destroyed planet at this time period..Wouldnt it make sense to have it in space as a bunch of floating debris? Not to mention PvP zones in space are good to have...People get tired of the same old nebula / zone .... Gives added content to the game and a more SWG feel to it all..

I totallly agree. On underpopulated servers like Tempest we're just not seeing groups of Rebels and groups of Imps in Deep Space. Part of it is that we don't have all that many Aces on the server yet but most of it is we just don't have the player base to support groups of players in Deep Space on a regular basis (and let's face it Deep Space is a tough place for a solo act.)
I was hoping that taking away forced PvP in Kessel would be offset by seeing lots of overt Rebels grinding faction there, but alas, the sector seems to have been overrun lately by large groups of covert Tier 2 folks trying to level quickly and painlessly. Which sort of ruins the feel of what was once an exciting and dangerous sector.

Not a bad idea... especially after having a Cries of Alderaan story arc. Maybe they can even have a few minor missions... Reb fly in to scan for radiation signatures to proves that Imperial technology destroyed the planet and the Imps try to stop them.

or they can redo the Cries of Alderaan missions to incorporate the JTL add on?
and could we, Alderaanians, that want to put a rememberance thing down? like a wreath? it can float there for ever?
as my character is "from" Alderaan.

When the Falcon hypered into the system there was an unexpected asteroid field - the remains of Alderaan.
Han says it wasn't supposed to be there, then that's when they saw the Death Star.

I'd love to see a new PvP zone in the game, and i think Alderaan is a great idea. Its fun fighting in asteroid fields now, but the AI is dumb and gets stuck a lot. PvP in a asteroid field would be sweet.

What an absolutely BRILLIANT suggestion!
It has a direct movie tie-in, it is an important sector in space, and there is at least some sort of plot-related reason for Imperial, Rebel and Freelance ships to be in the area. Plus, it could be filled with cool debris and such, which would make for more interesting fighting.
It also opens up the door for PvP Missions. Imperials could be going there to take scientific readings of the area, in order to study the effect of the Death Star's weaponry. Rebels could be going there in the hope of scrounging debris from the explosion of the planet. There are plenty of possibilities, and it sounds way cooler than "Deep Space".
