Thread: Targeting Reticle way off since game went live!?

Hey all, I was in Beta (Iggy) and I thought the targeting was pretty good, but since JTLS went live, I've noticed the Reticle is leading the target too much, and its rare that I score a hit from within the resticle itself! Has anyone else noticed this? Or is it just me?

I like the new reticle, the idea of the reticle isn't to tell you exactly where to hit, it's more of a tool to give you information. What it tells you is the heading of your target and the approximate speed of your target, determined by how far in front of the enemy craft it is. It's up to the pilot to take that information and judge where to shoot.

Targeting reticle is off now compared to beta. In beta, could hit the green circle and get hits of the craft I was shooting at, now it is kinda a guess. I usually aim between the indicator and the ship, indicator seems to lead too much in my opinion. It has definitely changes though

Not sure why you guys are having a problem with it. When i match the ret with the dot, I'll hit the target everytime, in beta and now live. Never had an issue

this problem is down to lag. You can shoot and hit the reticle but the shuip isn't actually there. The synchronization between client and server is apalling

I generally have to aim a bit behind the reticle to get the shots in. The distance seems to be fairly consistent though, so it just takes a bit of getting used to. My ping is stable around 120 and I otherwise seem to have very few problems with lag, so I am wondering whether the reticle actually is a bit off for other reasons.

I noticed using the z95 starter ship it was almost dead on, then tried the neutral starter ship and it was off like you mentioned. Perhaps it is a ship bug.

I've noticed this too... it seems especially bad when shooting at A-Wings.

To hit an A-Wing, I actually have to aim 1/4 to 1/2 and inch in front of the combat retical (i.e. closer to the ship that the retical is).

The targeting recticle is WAY off, but it's easy to adjust to.

The bullseye is pretty much in between the enemy and the recticle and it seems to vary depending on your speed.

It's off but it's not horrible.

THEY NEED to give us an option to turn off the missle lock targeting recticles when we don't need them.

ALSO those missle targeting recticles are WAY too huge and really are distracting, which could be remedied easiest by allowing to turn it on and off.
