I got a question concerning droid interfaces and their command speed. Is is better to have a lower number on the speed or higher?

the lower # is beter its buged ATM so that level 1 are the best and level 10 are the worst
this will be reversed in patch 11.2

I would have thought that higher command speed on droid interfaces would be better, but apparently it isn't. At least I experienced a major slowdown in astromech readiness after switching droid interface. Is it really true that the speed needs to be low (and should be labeled "delay" instead of "speed", I guess)? Or are there other factors that I missed? I was using the same programs as usual, by the way.

Yes, the command speed needs to be lower to be better on droid interfaces.

Lower Speeds On Droid Interfaces Are Better
*ahem*
Specificly, it works the same way that speed works on a gun. This is very easy to verify. Simply get two droid interfaces, one with a low number and one with a high number. Launch, hit a droid command, and then hit it again IMMEDIATELY. You will be told, of course, that your droid cannot perform another command for X number of seconds. That number will always be within a second or two of the delay on your droid interface.
So, you know, a lower number is, like, better and stuff.

Until this last update, things were confusing. Looted and crafted DI's had higher (numerically) rated Command Speed values the higher the Level of the device was. Level I DI's had numbers in the teens while level 6 DI's had numbers of 30 or greater. But if you reverse engineered a DI, then the number went DOWN.
After this last update, things are more consistent. I looted a level 10 DI last night that had a command speed of 10 and a level 5 DI with a command speed of 27.
Think of the command speed value as the number of seconds to execute a command and you should not have any problems getting confused.

I've held on to the near 500 items I've looted so far (eventually gonna get around to RE'ing these)... I've noticed I've got a 12.5 and a 15.0 speed Level 1 Droid Interface, and a new Level 9 14.8 speed Droid Interface (28k? mass)...
I highly doubt there's any difference in quality....

I still think that it is poor semantics to have "low speed" perform faster. It should be labeled "delay" then, in my opinion.
But thanks for the clarification. I just wanted to make sure that my observations where correct before I took the DI bag to the local chassis dealer

Yes, they changed it with this last patch. What that resulted in is now I have a level 1 DI with 800 mass, and 11.3 speed.
Fortunately, there aren't many out there like this.
