I'd disagree with that. When you're using Cap to Shield Shunt (which you should be) recharge doesn't matter at all. Should be going for front/rear shield hitpoints over recharge.

Come again ?
Sorry I don't know that much about all that space stuff, so please explain what you just said, thx
Here's a good thread on what stats to be looking for on looted components.
As for the recharge thing.. the recharge number is how many points of shield energy that get recharged every tick. 13 recharge on a 2000 HP shield would take 2.5 minutes to recharge.
If you use Capacitor to Shield Shunt 4 (a privateer droid program), you'll be dumping your entire capacitor into the shield. So if you're running a capactor with 1000 energy, that would be 4x shunts to recharge the whole thing, so about 40-60 seconds, depending on your droid interface and how fast your capacitor recharges.
It's all about balance. Yeah, a high recharge is nice, but it won't help you as much as a high shield HP rating.

And another thing, I am a Rebel pilot, so I don't have that command
- refire rate: the lower, the better
- recharge rate: the higher, the better
Engine:
- everything (yaw, pitch, roll, speed) the higher the better
Droid interface:
- speed: the lower the better
Booster:
- recharge rate: the higher, the better
- comsumption rate: the lower, the better
- recharge rate: the higher, the better

Go ahead and disagree, but that just makes you wrong. What he said is true, maybe not important in the current environment, but it's still true. He didnt say recharge was more important than hp, he just was talking about the stat. Personally, I always go for the high charge rate when I put together a shield for RE, just because it makes one les thing to remember between fights, and CtSS might not always make recharge pointless.

From the OP, to me, it looked like he was stating which stats he thought were the most important on each component. Personally, I think HP are more important than recharge. You have your own opinion, that's fine, but it doesn't make my opinion wrong.

hehe no, I mentioned only the stats I tested, not the stats I think which are the most important ones ![]()
and about those droid chips, I can't use those, I can only use Astromechs in my ships. But maybe I could transfer an astromecht do a privateer and ask him to put that command on it, don't know ![]()
but still, I don't think it is possible to do that. Don't you need a certain certification to be able to use a command ?

You can transfer the droid OR use the command chip and program that yourself.
Once the chip is in your inventory, the program on it can be used in your droid. You do NOT need the skill to use a command, the skill is simply to program it.
My Pilots all have an identical setup of droid programs and use a mixture of privateer and imperial commands. Rebel ones are so poor it is embarrasing
If you don't know an ace to assist, then try the bazaar. Most programs can be found there

This is a matter of opinion. I've never used any droid/flight computer commands, and never needed to. I do wonder why a lot of people swear by them. I get on perfectly fine without them.
I'd definitely like a higher recharge rate. If I can have a 3300 front/back shield with 18 recharge rate that suits me better than a 3500 with say...15 recharge rate (this is refering to elite shields).
The same goes for capacitors (although I did hear there was some bug regarding recharge), I'd rather have a cap with 1100 energy and 63 recharge rather than 1500 energy with 55 recharge (again elite stuff), if you have a quick recharge the thing will never run dry.
This is just my opinion and not meant to be a flame in anyway...just incase someone gets the wrong idea. ![]()
Cya!

No one *needs* to use any, but they improve the performance of your ship so much that you'd just be handicapping yourself unnecessarily. Just for fun, go load some up and hit EO3. First time that runs, I'm pretty sure you'll be hooked.
