This is a matter of opinion. I've never used any droid/flight computer commands, and never needed to. I do wonder why a lot of people swear by them. I get on perfectly fine without them.

No one *needs* to use any, but they improve the performance of your ship so much that you'd just be handicapping yourself unnecessarily. Just for fun, go load some up and hit EO3. First time that runs, I'm pretty sure you'll be hooked.

I don't think I have the mass to spare to put a droid interface in my ships (excluding POB's), but I really *should* give it a go at some point I suppose!

Hey I'm good now, using them might just make me invincible muuuuahahahahahahaha!!

ah yeah and another thing that is a little off-topic:

Do ship components decay ?

and if yes, do they decay when they are being shot at, or when they get disable from taking too much damage, or from repairing them, or when your ship blows up, or when you eject ???

They decay when you repair them. If you're an ace, go to deep space and they magicly get fixed with no decay when you leave.

Do they decay when you let them repair by a station AND when you repair them yourself with a repair kit ?

Unless you're flying to Deep Space, any repair that fixes 10 points of damage causes decay (repair kit or station repair).

That's why people stick to the L3 overloads, they never cause more than 10 points of damage, so they don't decay your components. L4 overloads do.

Looted components start out with those equal ... go take a look at some of yours after taking damage. If you don't take damage, it doesn't matter...

If anything just grab a level one interface, you should be able to shove that in there somewhere I'd hope. Might take you 5 minutes to get all your droid commands running if you're going to use the reactor, weaps cap, weaps overload, engine overload combo but you'll be able to get them going.

At that point hyperspace between planets to speed up the process.

Besides, you can run a decent speed DI at about 4-7k. That's pretty minimal on most fighters, with the exception of extreme Imperial ships.

The first time you run droid programs you're gonna realize how much you've been missing!
