I was in space earlier today and i was flying around and there was an IMP pilot out there as well. All of a sudden my "Incoming Missle Alert" went off 5 times in a row and seconds later i was impacted by the missles each one causing no damage what so ever. This Char continued to do this for several minutes. Now im wondering what missles in the game can be fired at another player in a non PVP area and not do any damage?

Yes there is a command to fire a dumby missile at a target, iv use it to get friends attention when they dont seem to be listening to groupchatand i dont even have a missile launcher equiped. It dosnt do anything other than make a nice light show. It is in the list of all pilot commands in the pilot forum.
Trick in PVP is to know when its a dumby and when its really so you dont waste your coutermeasures.
and this wasnt on flurry was it?

I use the command all the time. It's fun. I love shooting it at newbie players in prototype TIEs and seeing them freak out.
I also shoot them at friends as my space "greeting".

If you spam this enough you can actually blind the other pilot.

I'm going to start doing that as a greeting . Would also make for some awesome guild/squadron space videos, if you got coordination down.

I'd be wary doing this... previous posts regarding this command have been deleted or edited. The command can be used to grief other players by lag, blinding or audio warning overloading them. The command is apparently a remnant bit of code left from testing, it's not intended to be used as a normal command.

Yeah, but it sure is fun.

yeah but you can also use them for entertaining people, one of my friends was on a yacht in the middle of loko space somewhere i buzzed them a few times and dropped chaff as i passed once of twice, they said it looked like an air show.. now if i can just find a way to make the fireworks like ep 6 lol

Yeah its a nice little taunt you can go with starships. However don't get overzealous with them, witht oo many you and your target will go LD. Its a nice little greeting for guildies in a daze, or just when i want to rolepaly and act like Im deploying missile packs into a capital ship or corvette. All in all a nice little niche, just don't overdo it and make someone angry.

you can also cause lag/low FPS if you fire off a few dozen and are looking that way, all the pretty dots... lol

itis very fun and very blinding when u shoot a lot of them into an target
