I am currently looking to buy a joystick to use for JTL.
I am just curious as to what joysticks people use and enjoy when playing JTL. I seen the page( http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=lightspeed&message.id=54969
but I can't get a feel for what there like without trying em out.
I am looking for something with alot of features, but also something that easy on the hand, since I'll be in space for hours on end. Any opinions would help. I also hear that a twist on the joystick is nice for rolling your ship.
Thank You

I'm a big fan of my saitek cyborg 3d gold. It's not the latest in technology now, but its fully adjustable i.e top button pad, hand rest etc and has twist and has a nice slightly weighty feel to it and the build quality is very good too.
just my 2.5 creds

Right now im using a SideWinder Precision 2. Its a real nice joystick for a nice price. There might be something better out there but this one is pretty good.

I have a Saitek Cyborg (cheap joystick from Wallmart) and it works amazingly well with XWA, doesn't have a twist for rolling, but it has the adjustable wrist and thumb pad. It's only like $25 too.

I'm in Beta with a Saitek Cyborg Evo I recently bought, and it works wonderful
You can adjust it to fit your hand, so it should be comfortable, I've been flying for some hours straight and it doesn't make my hand sore. It has 12 buttons (including trigger), a pov-hat and a throttle. Also, you can configure different buttons + key combinations in game, so when you press button 4 + shift it does something different than just button 4. The joystick also has a utility to program macros and the like, so it's very unlikely you'll run out of buttons.
And yes, unless you prefear to roll with the keyboard, I'd go for a twist joystick, and be sure it has throttle, too.
