You know the idea that pilots cannot set turrets to fire forward is just silly. You could even take some rope and tie it in place... comeon, the MP ships don't handle all that well, it's not like it would be over powered. For SWG-realities sake please give us the option of locking our turrets to fire forward. I don't care if it's supposed to be multi passenger, if I wanted to be some spice addicted space hermit who enjoys the company of herself then damnit I should be able to fire both of my turrets while flying the ship.

Why is everyone complaning about this. There is so much to do on this type of ship why would you want to take it out buy your self. there are 2 ops positins 2 turrets a whole slew of panels to repare. It is a MULTI PLAYER SHIP. Not single player MULTI. If you want to fly buy your self take one of the SINGLE PLAYER SHIPS OUT.
sorry for the caps and sorry for the negative post but for the love of god it is multi player fo ra reason. what these people are asking for is like having a 1 person guild. what is the use. ok rant off flame all you want. the ship you are talking about is suposed to have a 9+ person crew buy all accounts. sorry i did this in your post but i am tired of seeing them.

mp ship with a crew is the BEST fun in SWG/JTL, but if you don't try it, you can't know about it...
those petitions, for me, sounds like "hey we have a cool thing in JTL, please remove it, so we can't have fun".
I /sign those petitions tho, just for the fun of seing the same peeps complaining how they can't fight with their "forward facing turrets" flying titanic.

Have you even flown one of the multi player ships yet? They handle like crap. You would't be able actually HIT anything. Maybe some of the really, really slow tier 1 stuff, in which case, wouldn't two 3k blasters be a little bit of overkill?

I fail to so see how having the option to lock the turrets forward when unmanned "takes away" from the ability to use MP ships with a crew.
MULTIplay != TEAMplay;
MULTIplay != TEAMplay;

And I fail to see why you don't just hop into one of the dozen solo ships and use them.
I also fail to see why there needs to be a dozen threads repeating the same exact nonsense all over again

Partially correct.
"Teamplay" is a wholly encompassed subset of "Multiplay."
Multiplayer implies just that: you have MULTIple people PLAYing the game at the same time.
Teamplay, again, implies something similar: two or more people PLAYing together as a TEAM.
Galaxies, UO, Forgotten Hope and CS are all examples of dedicated MULTIplay games. However, of those four only FH and CS are also dedicated TEAMplay games (that is, games where you *must* play as part of a team).
The biggest difference here is that in multiplay, there is no particular requirement that the various players be actively working together towards teh same goal. This is the case with team play.
In essence, those who claim that (MP = TP) believe that everyone should want the same out of their gaming experience as they, which flies directly in the face of any RPG. And above all, Galaxies is supposed to be an RPG.
---
Besides, as has already been pointed out, MP ships tend to fly like bricks. So who exactly loses out if pilots have the *option* (perhaps I should clarify: toggle option) to fix their turret orientation? Teamplay freaks would still be able to play together, roleplay freaks would still be able to fly around solo.
Addendum~ On the "why not use a solo ship" post: Why can't SOE give us decent master-level solo ships, then? Or in the case of Privateers, a decent master ship period?

1. Cant drop things in single player ship.
2. Can't decorate a single player ship.
3. Single player ships are only a vehicle where as a multiplayer ship can be used as a home too.
4. You can't do group transports between planets.
There are obvious reasons why someone would want to use them solo. The ships are not too swift. If someone wants to fire the weapons forward there is little reason not to.

the fact is that these ships were intended for multi player use. that is the reason why you cant lock the turrets forward because it goes against they're design.

I don't see any reason not to let them fire forward by default for the pilot. Having been in a few, I can see the outcome if anyone (even the best pilots) ever tried to solo in combat with them.
Fire! Fire!
Turn...
Turn...
Turn...
"OMG cant get this guy off me!"
Alarms blare
"Arrrrggh!!"
Huge ship explodes in a spectacular fireball that your foe will get much joy in seeing.
These ships are pretty much death-traps if you try to fly alone. No matter how good your engine is, if the enemy gets behind you in a starfighter ...you're toast.

You don't need turrets mounted forward to drop things in a MPS, you don't need turrets mounted forward to decorate a MPS, you don't need turrets mounted forward to use a MPS as a home andyou don't need a mounted turret to do group transports between planets.
MPS should be enhanced to better support their designed use (Multiple Players). It is good and fun now but a MPS with a crew of 4 should be comperable to a wing of 4 fighters. Rather than compromising these improvements by those who fail to realize that there are Multiple Players in Massive Multiplayer Game the MPS should be enhanced to fill it's designed role.

I ACTIVELY use my Decimator as a home/workshop/solo combat craft. The sheer mass of a Decimator allows the owner to mount ANYTHING he/she wants. I got the fastest recharging shields I could find. Now I go and I park my ship at the edge of a Tier 1-4 spawn point in whatever system I feel like being in. Hit my Weapon Overload 3, and hop in a turret with the ship sitting still. I've got no problem staying alive ALONE in my MP ship. And can fill my loot box in about 30 minutes of turret gunning alone. I hop downstairs and RE my loot while the fighters outside blast away inneffectively at my shields. It's a mini-capital ship...it's not gonna go chasing fighters...think less A-Wing...and more Corellian Corvette...and you'll see what I'm doing.
