Thread: I'm going to weld both turrets on my vt49 so they fire forward.
I second this if you want single player use the firespray. I have been the gunner in a YT-1300 while I am a Reb trust me its fun cause you only have half the work to worry about.

Why is everyone complaning about this. There is so much to do on this type of ship why would you want to take it out buy your self. there are 2 ops positins 2 turrets a whole slew of panels to repare. It is a MULTI PLAYER SHIP. Not single player MULTI. If you want to fly buy your self take one of the SINGLE PLAYER SHIPS OUT.
sorry for the caps and sorry for the negative post but for the love of god it is multi player fo ra reason. what these people are asking for is like having a 1 person guild. what is the use. ok rant off flame all you want. the ship you are talking about is suposed to have a 9+ person crew buy all accounts. sorry i did this in your post but i am tired of seeing them.
IMO the pilot's 3 missile launchers should be crew controlled aswell (aswell as reloadable from inside).
Also privateers get more ships before master than rebels do, and the B-wing isnt all that great.

With good gunners and pilot you can kill stuff fast in a MP ship. Why would you want to turn it into a big fighter? Its not fast enough to keep up with tier 4 or 5 fighters so what do you plan on doing with it that a fighter wouldnt be able to do 10x better? Plus in PvP MP ships go down just as fast, if not faster because they get no shield bonus and ther so easy to hit.

that's actually not true, with forward facing turrets, the pilot, solo could hardly take tiers 1 or tier 2s if he's a good, very good pilot, don't even think about using that thing solo in kessel or deep space.
I want em to be able to fly and fire it solo, so they'll understand that they better fly their noob ship when it comes to efficiency in fight.

Ok than give us Privateer a Master Starfighter ship like the rebell and imps.
Is this fair to u that we don't have a master ship? is this fair that most melee combat is overpowred? is this fair to u that Pistoleer, scout, Bio eng and CH don't get any fix since... I don't know? is this fair that SMUGGLER didn't get a fix at all since Beta3 from SWG? is it fait to give the Public smuggler content, and keeping ignoring the Smuggler community?

I agree 100% but it is off subject. This is about the Imperial MPS and not about the woe's of the Smuggler or Privateer.
If the question is: Should the Privateer get a Master Fighter/Bomber the answer is a resounding YES!
If the question is: Should the MPS be able to lock their turrets forward the answer is a resounding NO!
What are you the fun police? You know what makes this game most fun, and thats forcing me to group so I can fly my YT without worring about some low tier ship screwing with me cause I can't shoot back?
You really think the inability to fire turrets from the cockpit makes any sense when the ship has the technology to hyperspace!
It obviously not a resounding no on the forward fire turrets when we have all the post to the contrary, honestly why the heck to you group nazi's care so much?
Please stop arguing againstthisunlessyourwilling to create a wookie on my server and be my sidekick when ever I wanna fly my YT, oh and you have to be available24/7.

In Imperial squadrons, single players get eight ships (TIE/ld, TIE, TIE/in, TIE Interceptor, TIE bomber, TIE advanced, TIE opressor, Firespray), and two multi-player ships (TIE Agressor and VT49). If anything, the its solo flyers that have fantastic options and the multi-player craft that got gyped.

Us privateers got it even worse, we don't even get a 2 person craft like the agressor/y-wing.

I don't see any reason not to let them fire forward by default for the pilot. Having been in a few, I can see the outcome if anyone (even the best pilots) ever tried to solo in combat with them.
Fire! Fire!
Turn...
Turn...
Turn...
"OMG cant get this guy off me!"
Alarms blare
"Arrrrggh!!"
Huge ship explodes in a spectacular fireball that your foe will get much joy in seeing.
These ships are pretty much death-traps if you try to fly alone. No matter how good your engine is, if the enemy gets behind you in a starfighter ...you're toast.
Yes this will most likely be the case. Then what is the harm in allowing them to fire forward if there is no other people on board. Group play will still be encouraged and they will be more powerful with a full crew. This issue bothers me so much so that I am ready to leave the game over it.
Again, what would be the point? You wouldn't be able to fight anything other than the slowest tier 1 ships.
And if they did do that, what next? Would you be back on the forums complaining about how slow the mps's are? About their inability to turn? I can see the argument now...."I can lock the guns forward, but I can't HIT anything, so what's the point? They should give the mps ships better handling."
I mean, I can't even lock my damned missiles onto anything in my decimator, much less dogfight.
I think the whole point of an mps is, that they're SUPPOSED to be completely useless in a fight with only one person. There's too much firepower available. I've got two experimental blasters mounted in mine...that's up to 8k or more damage a shot. Way too much for one person to have.
The point is to have some level of flexiblity so I can take out my ship to hunt low level ships on occassion. I accept the fact, that the ship is slow and un-manverable. I dont think MPS should be fully effective unless they are fully manned. I would not want them to be fully soloable, andI agree it would take away from group play or whatever. Therefore, I dont want to use a MPS to be uber. I just like them for their aesthetic quality, and in there current form I dont fully enjoy them.
There are certain ways to come to a compromise on this, so everyone can be happy.
