This is due to the capacitor not emptying. If you destroy the reactor, the capacitor will stop recharging, but any energy still in it at that point can be used to fire.

You may want to go to the trade forum for your galaxy and look for a good Shipwight or look for one on your map under vendors. Those are the best place to seek what you need, not here. But the reactor you are looking for is easly made... you may even find a looted one on your Bazaar.

something you can do is go to your tier mission giver and take destroy duty missions....this will cause waves of enemies to spawn until you say quit.....although they will progressively spawn more ships the longer you continue doing a duty mission, they start dropping great loot and it comes very very fast because you don't spend your time searching all over the system for random spawns....duty missions bring enemies to you that you can handle (or should be able to handle).....after about 1 - 2 hours, you should have some great components.....and there's a great chance you will loot components that even a master SW can't even make.

I have all looted components in my ships because I can't find a shipwright who can make better parts.....as far as reactors go, they probably drop the least of all components...but when they do, they are always good (I've never got a bad one yet).

If you are not experience enough to handle the duty missions (because you will most likely be outnumbered)....then get a friend or two so you both can get great loot, lots of credits and the xp will pile up and you'll have plenty of it when you actually need xp for certain branches.

I looted a 44k mass 27k reactor the other day. Never used it.. Eats up way to much room in my x.

I use a 9k mass 13k reactor and solo'd all my tier 3 missions with ease. Only downfall is that I don't have any missles or countermeasures loaded at all.

Your local Shipwright should be able to crank out a level 3 reactor with about 13.2k generation rate at 3k mass.

What level reactors do you guys use? Im 4/4/3/3 right now and i have a 14k energy reactor. This is pretty much the highest that ive seen. How high of energy output do these reactors get up to. Any info would be much appreciated.

I'm not sure of the level for anything other than my YT-1300, in that, I'm running a level 10 reactor that puts out 21k of energy... leaving me with about 13k of energy left over... I love that ship, I never worry about the mass of what I'm putting in it..... because that reactor weights a TON (don't remember the exact mass, but I think it's around 30k - 40k)

On my Y-8, I put in the biggest reactor I could find, which is about 16k of enery

On the rest of my ships, I put in the lightest reactor that I can that gives out the closest amount of energy that I need.

And I don't remember where I got the reactors for the big ships, but in my Krayt and Lizzy I've got crafted reactors from REDDAWN.

The biggest I've found is not quite 16k. That one's in my Decemator. The rest are much smaller, usually in the area of 12k. I try to keep my weight down in my other ships, so I tailor the reactor to the energy required. I'm sure that there are bigger out there, I just haven't found them yet.
