a lvl 1 that puts out 11.9k and has 939 mass. Coupled with Reactor overload it gets the job done and leaves lots of space for other stuff.

Lighter is better as long as it covers your energy needs. I run a ~1300mass reactor with ~12800 output and use reactor overload 3 to bump it up to ~16640 output. I have a little heavier reactor I use when I need more juice. It is around 7500mass and puts out around 14200 juice. With reactor overload 3 that is 18460 output.


Look for those Tier 1-4 reactors that have low mass and high output. They run Reactor Overload 3 (find a friendly freelance Pilot to get this from) and you should have all the power you need.

I run reactor, weapon, capicatator, and engine overload 3 so i dunno. My energy is liek 14987/14879 so its a little high.

If your running reactor overload 3 you actually only need a reactor that is puting out 115xx to get the needed 148xx that your ship requires.


Just multiply your reactor output by 1.30. If your reactor puts out 14000 stock with reactor overload 3 it will put out 14000 x 1.30 = 18200.


You can save yourself a lot of mass by using a lighter reactor. This gives you more room for bigger guns or faster engines or......

The maximum generation works out to:
Mark I - 12-12.5k
Mark II - 13-13.3k
Mark III - 14-14.5k
Mark IV - 16-16.5k
Mark V - 18.5-19k

Using different overchargers, I produce reactors with generation rates in ~1k increments from 9k to ~19k.

Greetings Pilots, I am trying to collect data to see which reactors would be better to craft;

Concerning the MK1 reactors, I can make a:
1. 12000 average Generation reactor with 1200 mass
2. 11000 average Generation reactor with 850ish mass

Which would you guys think is better to outfit in your ship?

I would go for the 850 massas both of those are for light fighters, you really want about 15k output for a fully equiped fighter which comes at about 2.5-3k mass (if youre lucky to find a good one).

Really depends on the customer tho, it doesnt take long to loot a reactor better than both of those im afraid.

Yeah. You can loot a better reactor.


However, when it comes to these smaller ships with mostly looted components that are re'd in them, the power consumption is rather low.


My JSF barely uses a 9k gen reactor and 22.5K gen when all overloads in place, so a 850 mass crafted reactor is perfect and cuts weight.


My Vaksai doesnt even take 7k reactor with only 21k gen needed with overloads. That reactor is only 743 mass.


Now, with my Krayt, its an entirely different story with those three level ten weapons
