Thread: My ship is now unuseable

Aside from this fact, Sony : Your customer service is atrocious.

I am a Freelance, Smuggler's Alliance 4/4/3/4 Pilot. I am working for the trainer on Dathomir and was doing a quest in Dantooine space to inspect, disable and dock with a Valarian Warship. I failed the first time because I destroyed the ship while trying to take out the engines somehow. The second time I inspected, disabled and began to dock with the ship. However the docking operation never finished and Iw as stuck in Limbo land ( I had lost control of my ship, including my targeting reticle, ) that place where you are when you actually do dock with a ship. I tried to /undock but nothing happened. I logged out, rebooted and did a full file scan. When I logged in, I was at 0,0,0 Dantooine space and getting pelted by invisible Black Sun. I could only target the Valarian ship from before (it was now several thousand meters from my ship).

I filed a ticket and joined general chat at this time. Chat said I would get help shortly.

Sure enough, 15 or so minutes later, CSR-VanD shows up. My system crashes as soon as I see him. While I am rebooting, and re-logging, I go ahead and do another file scan just to be sure. When I get back in I am on Naboo at around 0,0,0. I check my ticket and sure enough , CSR-VanD had sent me there (though my ship was at the Dantooine mining outpost , thanks a ton). He had logged out but in the ticket the dialogue read that apparently he had tried to send me a few tells , I of course, was busy crashing and rebooting. The dumbass even had the gaul to berate me in my ticket for filing it under : "I'm stuck: on Geometry" instead of the proper "I'm Stuck : While performing an action"....

So I get back to my ship and launch into space...and wouldn't you know it, i am immediately stuck...just far enough (1700m) from the Space Station so that I could land. My ship had no targeting Reticle nor did I have any control over it whatsoever other than my droid programs and pilot tricks. I join chat again and they tell me to file another ticket. I do this , filing it under I'm Stuck : While performing an action, and about 15 minutes later a new CSR shows up. I forget this ones name sorry. Anyway he essentially does the same thing, I ask him to dump me on Dantooine and so he , of course drops me on Naboo...again. Fortunately, I am able to get him in /tells quick enough before he logs and he sends me to the middle of Dantooine (not exactly the safest place in the world for a CL 22 Pistoleer), and I began the trek back to the MO to get my Ship. I get to my ship, unload most of the components and re-seat them. Then head back to Dathomir and get the mission again. I head back to the MO and travel to meet some friends and do some ground stuff since space is seemingly bugged to all get out for me. My friends and I travel to Naboo where we hunt for several hours. Then , on a whim, we decide to take out my buddies YT-1300 and do some Kashyyyk Space Station missions. We do these for about an hour and half or so. I was the Co-pilot and the bottom turret gunner and I ran around inside the ship fixing things as well when we started taking some heavy dmg from the lovely T5 Gunboats in Kashyyyk Space. I had no problems whatsoever the whole time. Not even any lag issues.

After disbanding from my friends, I decide to try space again in my ship. Should be fine right since I have been in space for the last couple of hours and all...

But no. I launch and sure as hell, I'm stuck with no control over the ship and no targeting reticle. Droid programs and pilot tricks only whoopee. File a new ticket. 5 Minutes later a CSR shows up and gets me out of space and onto...Tatooine ( thanks again ) Fortunately, I am able to catch this one and get them to send me to Naboo (where I launched from this time. I try to communicate to this CSR that the problem is not getting addressed. I stressed this in my ticket as well. In good ole annoying caps for that matter. The CSR's response....none...she logged during the middle of me explaining the problem (YOU SHOULD BE FIRED FOR THIS)

There is a SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH MY SHIP. It is perma-stuck in "dock" mode where you lose control of your ship for a bit and it just sits there. I need help from someone that knows what I can do.

Anyone have a suggestion how I might be able to get more attention to this matter? I'm done with CSR's they are useless in my experience. Completely useless. They all should be fired, at least the 5 or so I dealt with today. As a CSR, you would think that meant they would Represent Sony and provide Customer Service. If ineptitude and generally rude behaviour is the way Sony and this development team wishes to be represented, then I guess they need a raise (the CSR's)....if not

I NEED SOME HELP DEVELOPERS, CS, Tech Support, SOMEONE. My ship is useless at this time. If my ship is useless, then I can't play the only thing that I enjoy playing in this game: JTL. If I can't play JTL, then I guess, yet again, you lose another customer.

Too bad the real problem still exists... SWG Customer Support, or rather the lack of it.

Hee hee... he expected CS to help... BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

*cough* Sorry... now that that's out of my system...

I've not had or heard about one good experiance with CS. The best I've even heard of is something like "They were friendly, but didn't fix the problem." SOE has the worst CS I've seen, and doesn't appear to use ANY industry standards at all...

Your best bet is to go to guildies and/or post something on the forums for help FIRST, then file a ticket as an absolute last result. I've gotten MUCH better help from other players than CS... which is truly very sad.... CS is paid to handle problems, the players are paying to play, not help others with problems. It does show what a great group of people are in this game though...

Oh, and I'm glad you got it fixed too.

Happened to me too, but this was kind of odd.. I was doing a Tier 3 Storm Squadron and had to disable a Tier 4 Nova Courier and dock it. So I go to the waypoint, kill the X-Wings flying around and I disable the Nova Courier. I shot the engine, and oddly enough the ship was there floating like a dead fish... so I thought, hey its safe now! So I start the dock procedure and suddenly the top gun starts to shoot and Im like 'OH SH*T OH SH*T!!!' hitting 'U' (dock key) to undock... but it was too late... I got warped back to Endor's Space station with my 0% of chasiss, at this moment I was in a 'Bah, screw this' mood, so I was going to repair and land to log out.

Well so much for my plans, the second I hit Repair All damage - Yes my camera changes to thirdperson and my ship starts to 'strafe' away from the space station... Im completely confused, I even said outload 'WTH did I do know!?!?' so there was my ship.. flying sideways at high speed... and I just remembered.. I never 'finished' docking... so yep thats what happened, the ship 'docked' all the way from the Space station to the still disabled Nova Courier ship. Good thing I got control of my ship once I got there, killed the newly spawned X-Wing and went to Yavin to try again...

I guess I should /bug it.

I talked on the web live chat to a CSR aboutthe drunken bumblebee problem my gamepad was giving me in space. After getting me to give him all (and I mean a LOT) of hardware information, he immediately accused me of lying about the problem. Said he'd never heard of such a bug, that he plays JTL all the time and had never seen it, therefore I must be confused or something.

Ithink he was probably about to end the session on me, until I told him it was the #1 topic stuck to the top of the tech support board. He didn't believe me. I told him to go look. I guess after that he realized he'd made an ass of himself and went to ask someone who actually knew something about the ingame JTL issues. Predicatably he returned and said they knew about the issue and there would be hotfix for it. But he couldn't give an ETA on it (was 2 months ago and still no fix). Then he made some shot in the dark kind of suggestions about what might fix it (most of which I'd already tried).

Just like the chonically understaffed sushi restaurant I go to, SOE's attitute seems to be "why spent time and money fixing problems when you're making money already?"

they should fire all the CSR guys... A fellow player just helped you out after all those CSRs you had to talk to? They could save some money and just ahve players volunteer to help.
