Ok...so I escort this YT-1300 for like 20 minutes through the Naboo system...then it takes off. They tell me to head to the Corellia system where I end up at a waypoint with 3 RSF assisting ships and like 8 enemy ships, 2 Tier 4 YT-1300. I havent gotten this mission to work at all, I shoot and they arent hurt, what the hell do i do?

Stuck on same mission they just spawn as a mass of interlocked ships and can't seem to fly away from each other, shooting into the mass seems to do some damage but the turrets on the YT's make pretty short work of you and the friendly ships just seem to watch the carnage.

I figure you need several people grouped to have a chance at this one asuming the ships are taking damage (which I can't confirm)

I've done this one several times, once for myself, and an other time with for a buddy. First time they just sat there, not moving, with the yt's guns being the only thing that fires. We just took its two guns out, then the yt itself. Then proceeded with the rest. Took a while, with non-stop firing on multiple shields at once, but it was easy because the rest didn't fire back.

Second time they did spread out, which was a bit tougher, but still doable.

I haven't had the problem you've described, where you can't do damage though.

Well I have been stuck on this mission for three days now and all I can say I am not going to post cuz I got banned once for that. But this mission is WAY to difficult and WAY too long. Listen up DEVs you guys have to do something about this mission- I have ran it about 100 times and it never ceases to get me teeming with hatred. Problem 1, its too long. Why am I going to spend 45 minutes over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again when I get killed in two seconds at the third part of the mission? Wheres my motivation here? Second, the "reinforcements"do nothing but sit there and I have submitted a bug about that. Third the bad guys show up in this big red ball packed so dense you'd swear it was space krill, and they all fire at me at once, two seconds later I am dead and racked up another 45 minutes of my young life I will never get back. Since I dont think giving out an ultimatum is flaming, either fix this mission or I quit.

If the YTs just stay still, centerline your craft and go dead and potshot them from 550m out. The turrets won't shoot that far and if you're able to get a spot on the YTs in the throng, let the good times roll!

I've soloed Tier 5 YTs before - the trick is to just get behind them (the point right behind their engine - close enough to just not/just hit them), match speed to the best of your ability, and take out the turrets. They can't manuever worth a damn, so if you can match them move-for-move you can have their turrets gone in less than 15 seconds depending on your weaponry.

Boosters are good for cutting the amount of time you're exposed, as is moving the armor you'd normally put in the rear up front. Additionally, it makes the most sense to approach a YT from above or below at max speed then roll into their rear quadrant and affix your crazy glue. Approaching these things from the sides/front/rear (with the exception of the EXTREMELY small blind spot) is suicide. Approaching from the top/bottom hurts, but it's not suicide.

Thanks for the help, I will try that. Last night myself and a buddy did this twice and got destroyed both times. The yt1300 is moving but its hard to describe. They sort of fly around each other in a tight little ball so its hard to draw a bead on it. I will try the snipe shot thing though... one more thing I havent concentrated on taking out the yt's weapons yet (i havent lived long enough to take out the shields) which weapon 1 or 0 is the top turret?

I've tried this mission 9 times now and fail within 2 minutes of the spawn in Corellia. I've read that only the YT-1300's will fire at you, but that is not true. They all attack. I took a buddy at the same level, both with very good ships for our level, but we cannot last. It is obsurd to make me start this mission over from the beginning after failing here. The 3 RSF assisting ships do nothing. They don't attack and aren't attacked. Dev's need to fix this one.

A guild mate was having trouble with this mission, so he and I went out and did it. concentrate on the weapons (both people concentrating on the same item). In fact once you knock the weapons out move on to the Ties and waste them. I did like the Xp for killing the YT's, though.

We tried this last night. We both targeted one of the YT-1300's guns (Weapon 0) but as soon as we got close, we were dead. We tried missles from a further range, but this didn't work. Our shields and armor are both very good. Either this is a bug or they expect you to bring maybe 10 or 20 with you.

My guild has done this one 3 times for 3 seperate guildmates and we go right after the YT anytime it appears: Lock-On and target a seperate gun and as soon as you get cross hairs lay in to it with guns and missiles. Take out the escort nme fighters then right away go repair at the space station that should be fairly close because you have to repeat this 2 more times on 2 other YT's(total of 3) although the last is like a tier 2.

I did this mission. took 7 tries. Heres a quickie guide.

Get a big group together of people that WILL FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. If they cant follow directions, leave em behind. Other than that, they need to be at least tier three, with decent ships. I would reccomend at least 5-6 people, prolly 8 if you have tier threes.

Escort the cadamo Sun. Deal with all the waves of fighters. Then fly to the low danger WP on corellia. WAIT till the entire group gets there, then form up. your mission at this point gets complicated. You need to kill a bunch of pirates (Multiple tier 3's, and a tier 4 YT-1300 that will do it's best to kill you if you get anywhere near it) while PROTECTING the RSF that show up just before the bad guys spawn. NO ONE should shoot the RSF. They are part of your mission, and if they die, you fail! If you die, you fail too! My reccomendation is, send the group in to deal with the pirates, and deal with any Tier-3 stragglers that wander nearby. STAY AWAY from the yt-1300. I had gonzo shields and armor. 900 protection shields per facing, 730 HP armor per facing. Was dead in 20 seconds when he decided I was his new chew toy.

Once you finish this part, youre not done! But from here on, its fairly simple. I dont remember the order of the missions, but I can tell ya what you need to do. You need to disable a fighter, dock with a shuttle, and escort another freighter. I think that covers it. All in all, it lasts about an hour, so make sure everyone knows they will be there for a while, and they will get really bored a couple times.

When the fighter needs to be disabled,, this is important, DESIGNATE ONE PERSON TO SHOOT! EVERYONE ELSE SHOULD HOLD THEIR FIRE! When we did mine, everyone fired, and the target got killed 4 times before we did it right. Luckily, at that part of the mission, if you kill the fighter, it respawns, so you dont fail the mission. Just wait a min, and you get a new WP. Hope this helps.

I soloed this the other night but I'd recommend getting at least one more person. All I did was get about 550-600 meters out and take pot shots at the group. I stayed outside their range and just targeted the closest ship and worked my way in, staying outside of the range of the yt1300 the entire time. It took quite a while but with two people I can imagine it going much faster.

I've tried to just break up the cluster and pick em off one by one but unless you have 3-4 people I wouldn't recommend that. The yt1300 and the tier 5 fighter make it very difficult.

I'm guessing the solution to this mission isn't exactly what soe had in mind but it works. I have no idea what the "backup" is for, but whatever works!

And once you get past this one, the rest of tier III is cake.
